That is a lie. I am there and there is maybe 1/4 inch at 8.40.

Are you Taylor's mom? I just typed bethesda into weather dot gov snow total map and it says .7 inches in bethesda.

Maybe on the grass. Roads and sidewalks are clear

There isn't enough snow to enjoy. It is silly to delay or close if you can't go sledding.

Our bus was delayed 30 mins and the kids got to examine snow crustals under a magnifying glass. They also enjoyed maple syrup snow candy

That would work much better if it was about 10F colder. This is too little snow and too warm to properly enjoy. Save our one snow day for something better.

If you want off on days like today, lobby for more snow days in the calendar. Otherwise we need to be able to handle days like today.

I drove this morning from Chevy Chase to downtown and all roads were clear.

Ultimately MCPS was going to have to pull back on the caution related to snow bc of a lack of make-up possibilities. I think this is a step in the right direction. Particularly after Tuesday.

Am on a public bus on my way to work. And traffic is fine

We believe you

Multiple crashes on 270 both directions. Dusting covers highway lanes, especially local and exit ramps. Sidewalks are slippery.

It’s time for Taylor to resign.

So that you can take charge? Because the DCUM mommies with their torches and pitchforks won't come for you when you make a conservative call that inconveniences them?

Skidding all over the place just to get into the parking lot at the school right now. It’s incredibly dangerous and just a very bad idea. Taylor must resign.

You can't handle some skidding at slow speeds without crashing into something? You need to take some driving lessons.

I’m all for keeping the schools open but a delay would have made sense here. My kid’s middle school bus showed up about 45 mins to an hour late and texted that it just arrived at school.

+1. Just walked my ES kid in Bethesda 10 minutes to school. Maybe a half inch on the grass, nothing on the roads. Traffic fine-seemed like fewer cars on the road but driving more slowly.

MS kid arrived on time to school by bus. I’m happy MCPS opened today.

Uhh, that's pretty embarrassing. They didn't recognize any landmarks? I think that was a parody.

What? I don't understand.

I don't understand how anyone neurotypical could get lost simply due to not seeing the sidewalk. Are they trained to follow a painted line?

Don’t use clinical language in colloquial conversations. Just say “normal.”

I wouldn't call a lot of people in MoCo "normal."

You apparently have no reading comprehension capabilities. Nobody said anything about crashing. Just that they were kidding. No one said anything that it was at any high speed or low speed. Maybe you need to go back to school

I have always been under the impression that they don't need to make up delayed opening days, just closures. And no one is saying that they should have closed school.

Pray tell, what is the definition of “normal?” And can you point us to the rule that polices our language such that we can’t use words that may occur in a clinical setting?

Absolutely not clear. I’m in Rockville. All of the neighborhood roads have some kind of snow cover somewhere on them. It is especially bad at some of the intersections at small neighborhood roads like where they go into the schools. In addition, many of the highways ramps have full coverage of snow. That’s starting to go away now that the cars are actually traveling on it.

2 hr delay doesn’t need to be made up

I walked my ES kid to school today. Nothing accumulated on roads and lots of happy kids enjoying the first snowfall of the school year
