Uhh, that's pretty embarrassing. They didn't recognize any landmarks? I think that was a parody.

It's all good. See below that he made it to the front door.

There isn't enough snow to enjoy. It is silly to delay or close if you can't go sledding.

Buses over 30 minutes late for pick up this morning for one child’s school, another child’s school a bus was in an accident. This was a bad call. I’ll always support a call made in favor of safety. I don’t envy MCPS - this is always a tough decision. But this was the day for the two hour delay.

What? I don't understand.

I don't understand how anyone neurotypical could get lost simply due to not seeing the sidewalk. Are they trained to follow a painted line?

Our bus was delayed 30 mins and the kids got to examine snow crustals under a magnifying glass. They also enjoyed maple syrup snow candy

In Wheaton and it's completely fine here. People are driving slowly, saw no accidents on the way to school. Kids happy.

You're mistaking caution with difficulty. This is fine.

Nah, skidding busses are not example of caution.

No. We are not prepared to pay to deal with problems that come up rarely. There isn't budget for additional cleaning services, salt trucks etc to get sidewalks etc etc cleaned. We have a large immigrant populations without winter coats even. There are years it doesn't snow and there are no delays or days off. If mcps and MoCo paid enough snow cleaning contractors those here it would be wasted $.

Snow removal is fine in Montgomery County. Certainly the equipment and staff resources are fine. They could do a better job with how they manage their resources, but they usually do a good job clearing main roads. People just think that they should never have to drive on any amount of snow or ice, which is ridiculous. You can. Just be more careful.

+1

It was a poor call.

It's not an example of difficulty, either. You're going to skid and slide a bit when driving on snow and ice. That is fine.

Ever drive on a gravel road at speed? It happens then, too.

Yeah, at 9am. It was not fine at 7:00am when I drove my high schooler nor at 7:45am when I drove my middle schooler.

Don’t use clinical language in colloquial conversations. Just say “normal.”

-1 a 2 hour delay would have meant kids going to school during the snowiest most dangerous part of the day. It was safer earlier.

A closure might have made some sense, but admin offices and childcare should have been opened and we know those CO staffers love to give themselves a day off.

Am on a public bus on my way to work. And traffic is fine

We believe you

Multiple crashes on 270 both directions. Dusting covers highway lanes, especially local and exit ramps. Sidewalks are slippery.

It’s time for Taylor to resign.

So that you can take charge? Because the DCUM mommies with their torches and pitchforks won't come for you when you make a conservative call that inconveniences them?

Skidding all over the place just to get into the parking lot at the school right now. It’s incredibly dangerous and just a very bad idea. Taylor must resign.
