Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
| Is it too early to start talking about the next one? Early dismissal? Closure? Child care woes? |
| It’s less than an inch on Friday night. So no, nowhere is closing. |
Heads up for those who don't know (after today's thread on before care programs in mcps buildings): there are activities in MCPS facilities on weekends. Those activities may be cancelled or have a delayed opening. |
Taylor: "Hold my beer." |
| I wish but doubtful. |
| Should be a closure but..... Lunch. They want students who need food to be fed and send them home. Call it by tomorrow evening, MCPS. Give adults who rely on child care to plan |
If county government offices are open, child care should be open |
| Good chance schools might close for Saturday and Sunday. |
Taylor get back to work |
Food service can run on a skeleton crew like it did during COVID closure ad summer service. |
Yes, it's too early. |
On what issue would Taylor be doing this? Weather? Regions/ Boundaries? Closing schools? Regional Programming? |
LOL |

Early release at best, and given that it won't start until the afternoon if it happens at all, I think they would just have the whole day of school.
Per CWG: "If it snows, the flakes will probably fall between midmorning and early evening, spreading from southwest to northeast. The best chance of seeing flakes will be in the afternoon. If it snows steadily, the air should cool enough to allow for some light accumulation on untreated surfaces, but it’s unclear whether steady snow will materialize." |
| A different meteorologist said snow could start earlier, so once kids are fed, schools can close. By 1:30, students will be heading home before snow sets. They should give families plenty of time to plan for after care |
