The statement you referenced says, among other things, that sale and purchase of Crimea real estate was banned by Russia, and this is not the case. I think you are quite naïve if you believe the bolded. |
Russian supply logistics are conducted almost entirely by rail. That does not bode well for being able to effectively reconstitute ground forces without air superiority. Beyond that all evidence points to severe degradation in equipment. Inoperable tanks and armored vehicles. Warped artillery barrels. High precision weaponry in short supply. This on top of the extraordinary losses already sustained. It will take time to redeploy forces from the east and supply them with winter gear. While RF can’t even pay its soldiers they provide death payment to families to buy a new Lada that some call a “coffin car.” The pressures will continue to mount in Putin from the ultranationalists to his right who perceive him as weak for not leveling all of Ukraine. We will have to wait and see how Putin reacts. Will he lay blame on a group of “elites” within the military and siezed the opportunity to eliminate political threats? Will the hardliners pull off a Soviet style power grab? None of the outcomes seem great. |

That friend in Moscow who went to dacha has never been to Moscow.
"Believe me, if every massive traffic jam on MKAD would mean a coup, Russia would not have a functioning government since 1991" (Max Fras) |
To add insult to injury, the Ring Road referenced in that tweet is not MKAD. |
Correct but you see how quickly nonsense like that is spread by the eager. |
They don't need nukes. They need NATO membership. Far more effective deterrent. |
You mean China, right? |
NATO will pay Ukraine to fight but it does not want to die for it. |
It’s more symbolic than anything. If - even in theory- you can board a plane to pretty much any European country - then life is normal. If you can get your McD burger and Ikea couch, a visa to the US without jumping through hoops… you know the old 2019 things. Can’t wait for it to be back. That’s why I want Ukraine to win - Russia will then get a light or not so light whipping and eventually become a country with a more or less ok reputation again |
