Well there weren’t many details released at first and there are some hateful sickos out there. When more of the story came out I figured he was covering for a hookup gone wrong. But never would I have imagined the whole thing was a plot to get attention.

BREAKING: The two potential suspects in the Smollet investigation ARE under arrest. They are not able to leave; police have them under arrest.

Pretty sure there's no way this can't be anything but a hoax orchestrated by Jussie. The two Nigerian brothers are now arrested and they are the exact opposite of the suspects Jussie sent the police after.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection to an attack reported by "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett, Chicago Police Department said Friday.

The men arrested were the same men that police previously said were being viewed as "potential suspects," according to Tom Ahern, Chicago police communications deputy director.

They have not been charged.

Earlier Friday, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said two Nigerian brothers were being treated as "potential suspects" and that detectives had "probable cause that they may have been involved in an alleged crime."

It sounds staged and explains the timing of the attack (very late on a frigidly cold evening) because Smollett’s flight was delayed and the guys had a plane to catch the next day. Otherwise, they would have had to wait three weeks. My guess is that they’re going to spill the beans today.

There were so many fishy things before:
1. Who carries around bleach and a rope for a random attack at 2 a.m. on a frigidly cold night? You’d have to be pretty damn motivated or drunk.
2. Smallest didn’t immediately report it.
3. Smollett kept the damn rope on for two hours after the attack. Wouldn’t you remove it ASAP, especially given it what it symbolizes?
4. Smollett’s alibi is his agent. Why do you talk to your agent at 2 am? Wouldn’t you call friends and family instead?
5. The MAGA stuff and the letter that was previously sent to his office just sounded too contrived (as did the bleach).

Now it looks like he cooked this up with his friends for whatever reason...

He was talking to his agent during the attack - remember? The phone was in his pocket during the conversation and during the attack. So as someone quickly approached him, he must have quickly placed the phone in his pocket (b/c that's easy to do when someone smacks you around in front while another kicks you in the back) and fought back (as he claimed) until they decided to end it and walk off . . .

The phone DROPPED to the ground at some point. And the manager, who was on the entire time, heard MAGA!
