My initial reaction was to be really upset that he was attacked but as the details and time line comes out I'm starting to think he made it up or it did not happen as he reported it.

The more (or rather, less) we hear about this, the more convinced I am that it was either heavily embellished or didn't happen at all. I think the worst of it was making it seem like the attackers, if they exist, were Trump supporters. That is truly awful if he made that up.

and that's exactly why this story is going to slowly go away- never to be discussed again by the media. if fake news works in their favor, they're totally okay with using it.

A longtime pal shared the story with me when it broke. She was in an uproar over it. As the story started to unravel, I didn't bring it up again - and neither did she. I am almost 100% certain that she would still side with him if the ugly truth did come out - blaming the media. So I think that it probably is best for this story to just go away . . .

You don't want your friend to acknowledge that "Trump voters" had nothing at all to do with this, and that it was a deliberate attempt to smear them? I think the whole country needs to know that.

Sometimes it's best to leave things alone . . . especially when people can't hear the truth. Instead of commenting on the case, I was given an analysis of Liam Neeson's comment. I fail to see the connection. One lies;[b] the other one is too brutally honest.

No, I don't believe any of it, especially after his interview, with the additional details that were laughable, and the two Nigerian men connected to Smollett, who are potentially instrumental in solving this BS case.

He's simply trying to make himself relevant.

I don’t understand why people don’t think he should be jailed or charged. I think anybody who files a false police report and who wastes valuable police time should be charged and jailed ( even if it’s just for a weekend) , regardless of their celebrity status.

Well there weren’t many details released at first and there are some hateful sickos out there. When more of the story came out I figured he was covering for a hookup gone wrong. But never would I have imagined the whole thing was a plot to get attention.
