Tysons Corner Casino -- Foregone Conclusion Now?

The change is that it isn’t temporary anymore. It is the version Surovell originally wanted. If Spanberger doesn’t veto, she should be recalled.

There are not that many black people in NOVA so who are they targeting? Why they didn't try it in Winchester?

You do know Jim Crow was all democrats. Not republicans. Democrats. And they haven’t changed a bit. Racist to the core. It’s a softer bigotry now but a bigotry nonetheless.

They are targeting everyone who HAS TO go through Tysons or spend time there (going to work, living there, or shopping/dining). MGM is not in a residential or CBD area, there is a lot less in terms of "targeting" going on there, since there is not much around. Plopping a casino in the midst of the busiest town center where a lot of people from the surrounding areas converge, and that's also a big transit center is a crime.

If Spanberger signs the bill, local politicians like Jimmy Bierman, Dalia Palchik, Holly Seibold, and Rip Sullivan can kiss their political careers goodbye.

You have to vote for them, or Trump wins!

How many times have you posted this exact same sentence? It’s so weird.

Sure … meanwhile how many Republican group chats have been exposed as containing racist and Nazi language? The most recent was Florida. Talking about Jim Crow when the Republicans are the party of Nazis is really clueless.

The casino isn’t a democratic or republican issue. It’s particular Fairfax politicians that are corrupt, like Surovell, and the rest of the state that wants to stick it to Fairfax (the county that provides the rest of the state with its money).

The casino is 100% a democrat issue. Democrats control everything. It is there idea and only they can make it happen or stop it. You don’t get to disown it because it is inconvenient.

I guess I'm triggered when these folks send out new emails every other day proclaiming their opposition to a casino, while meanwhile their fellow Democrats like Scott Surovell keep pushing for one. It feels like a good cop, bad cop routine.

That's BS. The casino doesn't happen without Surovell, a Fairfax Democrat, leading the charge in cahoots with other local Democrats (Dave Marsden, Stella Pekarsky, Laura Jane Cohen) and state Democrats (Louise Lucas, in particular).

If you think he can have his way without there being repurcussions for other Fairfax Democrats, you (and they) are very much mistaken.

Maybe the majority want a casino in Tysons.

It’s just weird that you think they’re a monolith. They’re people with different positions and opinions. Most of the Fairfax democratic delegation voted against the casino. Some did not (hope their constituents kick them out). Meanwhile reps from both parties in other parts of the state were happy to stick it to Fairfax. I saw footage of one Republican who gleefully voted for the casino bill in an attempt to stick it to democrats because of the redistricting amendment.

Don't be such an a-hole. Playing spelling or grammar police here isn't going to help your cause one bit.
