Unfortunately, the R's have demonized the issue and in turn the kids who are clearly struggling along with their parents. I find it sad all around and not sure how it became such a political issue.

Except that no one is demonizing anyone. The issue is simply that biological males should not be playing sports against biological females. Why can’t you grasp this?

The issue is much bigger than sports. And yes people, the most vulnerable here, are being demonized.

I'm a huge supporter of individual rights but I have to agree with the PP if simply stating the fact that biological males shouldn't be allowed to compete biological females in athletics/sports. That's just basic common sense and acknowledging that obvious truth isn't demonizing anyone.

I understand that! But rhetoric on the right especially is demonizing those who are struggling with these issues. I am NOT talking about sports.

+1
I’m a vocal trans rights proponent and the sports stuff just isn’t the huge deal PPs are making it out to be. It’s minuscule. But the fact is that it’s masking true demonization of trans people in general. It’s a platform to express hatred for them masquerading as concern for women and girls sports. It’s so obvious because it’s just not any real concern. Look at the comments here. Equating trans rights to some douche high schooler dressing like a fox. GMAFB.

But don’t worry. All trans kids will evaporate from your schools on Jan 21.

No, you are wrong. If the issues were about not being denied medical care (and I mean basic care here), job security, marriage, and not being denied housing for adults, then the reaction would be very different. I suspect you would have seen much more support.

If you're "pointing the blame at one specific demographic" for Democrats' losses in last week's elections, you're gravely "missing the mark," according to John Oliver.

The comedian tackled Kamala Harris' defeat during the most recent episode of Last Week Tonight, calling out supposed progressives who have turned against transgender people and blamed so-called "woke" issues for Donald Trump's win.

"It's telling how quickly some are jumping to predetermined conclusions that don't match the campaign that just wrapped up," Oliver said. "For instance, some Democrats are loudly claiming that the party needs to move to the center."

The host then referenced comments from New York congressman Tom Suozzi, a Democrat, who recently argued that "the Democrats have to stop pandering to the far left ... I don't want to discriminate against anybody, but I don't think biological boys should be playing in girls' sports." Other Democratic lawmakers have made similar claims in the wake of Harris' loss.

If you watch the clip, he is very forcefully rejecting the argument Suozzi made.

He would rather be right than win elections

THIS. The pervasiveness of gender changing in school-aged children is disturbing. It is far more than 0.5%

So let their parents deal with. Parents rights and all, right?

Schools are quite literally teaching gender identity ideology

Do parents cease to exist? They want prayer back in schools now. We’re an atheist family. Is my kid going to turn Christian because there’s prayer in school? No. Because I’m still the parent.

The thing is, these christians are terrified their kids will learn what being gay or especially trans is and put a name to the way they’ve been feeling all along. It’s not indoctrination they’re scared of. It’s learning about queer people because some religions people’s kids end up being LGBT. They want to force them to be cisgender and have straight relationships. They want to trap their children in unhappy lives and sham marriages with unwitting partners because they (the parents) feel they have a vested interest in their kid being straight and not trans. That’s the truth of the matter.

Teaching the belief that people have souls that don’t match their bodies and so a girl can become a boy and vice versa is no less a school teaching religion than if they brought in a Bible and read from it in class. It’s not science, it’s belief that not everyone shares.

So long as it doesn’t involve permanent effects the way puberty blockers and surgery have been shown to have.

So you have a say in what other parents provide their children for their medical care? You know more about other people’s kids than their doctors and therapists do? Wow. You must think very highly of yourself to think you have a say in everyone else’s kids.

Of course. Why do you think we banned things like FGM or require emergency medical treatment even for Christian scientists for minors?

Ok. Good point. I understand that. But I am begging for people to understand as well, and I’ll leave it at this, is to see the humanity in people who are transgender. Children included. All the commentary on here leaves out that these are human beings, and there is going to be real harm that is going to come to them. Equating them to foxes is inhumane and cruel. And when you see that, it is very hard to not dig in and beg for people to see that these are human beings, not some talking point for political gain.

Do you know who else are human beings? Women. We have hopes and dreams and fears. And when the trans community decided to steamroll us, gaslight us, push us aside, and demand the use of "pregnant people" and "front hole," our humanity was threatened.

You notice how there is no male equivalent to TERF, right? Ask yourself why.

Because TERF is a term created and defined by trans exclusionary radical feminists and the term TERF includes men and women. Jesus Christ…

Wrong. The term comes from Viv Smythe who is trans inclusive. From a 2008 blog post.

It was created to attack women who say that women are women. It got JKR canceled. Yes, despite being the richest woman in England, she really was canceled. She was uncanceled by Dave Chappelle, of all people. Truly strange times we live in.

You know who are also human? The woman prisoners punished for reporting the abuse they experienced at the hands of transwomen put in prison with them. But the left has no problems demonizing those women and dehumanizing them. Why don’t you care about the humanity of vulnerable women? Why do you prioritize the humanity of people who are transgender over the humanity of women who suffer because of gender ideology?

Get real.
Nobody's forcing or brainwashing kids to be queer.

Also, prison issues are not a "Dem" thing. Sexual assault by transwomen or of transwomen is a prison incompetence problem. And by the way, in women's prisons, women were raping and sexually assaulting other women long before "trans" was even a thing, yet this is ignored and we pretend "trans" is a sudden new threat. And another fact for you: Prison inmates were getting gender reassignment WHILE TRUMP WAS PRESIDENT so this is also another "Biden did this" and "Biden did that" lie of the right wing.

You’re wrong, no gender reassignments occurred in Trump’s watch in federal prison. There was pending litigation during those years but no surgeries.

Damn people you won. You’re going to get exactly what you want. I’m unsure of what that actually is but you will get everything you want. Why are you still arguing? Owning the libs? Ok. Fine. You should be happy and celebrating not letting everyone know how much you hate transgender people. We already knew that. There is literally nothing new in this thread.

This whole post is way off the mark. Democrats lost the election for "multiple reasons" -- that being said, one of the reasons is this:

A culmination of cancel culture, extremist DEI and woke culture, pronoun nonsense, social constructs not based on science.

I am disgusted by all the cancel culture, especially in regards to JK Rowling and I actually am a bigger fan of hers simply because she continues to stand her ground. Good for her! Recent Article below - I'm so proud of her.
https://www.newsweek.com/jk-rowling-politics-...omens-rights-1983654

They lost the election because people don't like this - and while too scared to voice it for fear of career damage and society cancelling - they were not scared to vote [or not vote or vote third party] accordingly and that's a big reason Trump won.

Very thoughtful explanation. Many great points. But like so many other accurate dissections, you miss the most important piece if the puzzle: Kamala has been on the national stage for years now, & hasn’t said or done even one thing to indicate she’s smart in any way. She’s a JOKE.

Describing Harris as a joke is a joke within itself. She has more intelligence in her small toe than Trump and Biden do combined. This being said; intelligence and competence are just two of many traits one needs to be presidential. No doubt the Dem Party would have nominated someone else if there had been an open primary and no doubt that someone else would have destroyed Trump. Harris was obviously a better option for POTUS than Trump or Biden but she was subpar as a candidate generally speaking and the last minute switch to her as the nominee was more than she could overcome considering the low IQ of American voters. Live and learn and let's all demand better in 2028!

They won’t be happy until all trans people, including adults are forcibly detransitioner or jailed.
