Agree that kids transfer for many reasons. But come on, we all know the kids were recruited. My view is that it's becoming more and more of an easy sell - winning teams, great and growing facilities. There is a method to this madness. No complaints on my end. |
Any word how Goblin is doing at O'Connell? |
Yes they are poaching, I know specifically of a player brought in just for spring semester to play lacrosse. This was shortly after he committed to a college. Began this year at a public school, and was just brought back again for free to play lacrosse. This practice is ridiculous. |
|
What public school did he come in from?
I had heard Bullis poached a few kids from Saint Stephens this off-season. |
| Pathetic if this is true. A ringer shows up just in time for lacrosse season. |
I prefer not to disclose his school...as it would clearly identify the student/player. |
|
Landon's goalie came from the Heights as a junior. Poaching?
St Alban's face-off guy comes from Sidwell Poaching? Prep brings kids from Florida. Poaching? EHS boarding school Football players from Canada Poaching? Bullis brings in a transfer mid year. Poaching? SSSA 3 new players...Poaching? Players contact the school, the schools are not actively looking for transfers. Each case is different. Get over it |
|
Bullis has about 15 transfers a year pal.
Its the only school that brings in mid year transfers and senior transfers on a regular bases. |
| Bullis brings in about 150 new students each year. |
|
I do remember a lax player that left Landon and went to Bullis as a senior. The player complained about the Landon coaching staff and decided to leave. Is that OK? Or was that wrong?
I remember another Landon lax player that left Landon to go to Gonzaga. Is that OK? Last year Bullis had a mid-year transfer that played lax. If you know the kid or the family situation you would realize there was much more to the transfer. |
| Giblin is at O'Connell. I expect him to move that program to the top half of the WCAC. In a few years he will have O'Connell in the finals of the WCAC |
| What happened to Coach Trig? I thought he was at St Johns. |
Yup! Kevin Giblin built Prep from nothing to a national power. His secret is his relentless nature. He will work at it and eventually find the key at O'Connell. He understands things about building a high school program that it will take new coaches years to find out, if they ever do. I don't know how long it will take him to get O'Connell to the top of the IAC, but it will be half the time of an inexperienced high school coach. |
| O'Connell is in the WCAC |
| How do you loose your job prior to the season? |
