Will Manchin and Sinema crack?

She’s acting like a teenager. It’s not a good luck over about 20.

How so? She isn't required to publicly discuss the 'sausage making' process. Reports are that she has talked with Biden presumably about what she wants.

Remember when people were demanding that Manchin come out with what his problem was and then low and behold he had an agreement with Schumer signed months ago ....

Oh, please. Apparently, a Republican voting his conscience and siding with Democrats sometimes is considered "brave" and "maverick" behavior. But when a Democrat votes *her* conscience and sides with Republicans, she's "sold her soul". You people are beyond idiotic - not to mention complete hypocrites.

Is Kyrsten Sinema the Democrats’ John McCain ?

In his day the media cheered McCain as a “maverick” who put principle ahead of party. But it turns out the word maverick applies only to Republicans opposing a Republican agenda. As Ms. Sinema’s opposition to Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion agenda is revealing, a maverick in the Democratic Party elicits far different treatment.

In the same way that John McCain was hailed as a principled independent for voting against key Republican priorities—including providing the decisive vote against repeal of ObamaCare—if Ms. Sinema ends up tanking the reconciliation bill, those covering the story ought at least to have the grace to recognize there really is a new maverick in town.

DP

The same standard is being applied. Democrats cheered McCain while republicans called him a RINO. In this case, republicans are cheering Sinema and democrats are saying she sold her soul.

True. But the media treatment is completely different. Aren’t they supposed to at least look fair and impartial?

They are supposed to be but rarely are.

I can't believe the other women who were in there didn't tell off the protesters. I would have been livid.

Yes well they have gall to start with making demands of her. Why not push their luck?

That’s amazing.

If it said she followed him into a bathroom while filming, you would have something. This is not the same.

Hi, maybe consider that not every post in this thread is going to be about the bathroom incident, which for the record I find abhorrent. The above post is about the about face her views have taken.

I mean, in 2003 it sounds like she would have been in that bathroom yelling at Joe Lieberman.

Except she wasn't. So your comment is utterly irrelevant.

You all are really good at missing the point.

Sinema is bought and paid for. No integrity at all.

It's ok if Sinema has evolved her thinking since her early 20s.

She has literally no principles. She is currently actively working to block things she specifically campaigned on trying to accomplish.

A ) She was 27
B ) She’s clearly “evolved her thinking” since her 2018 Senate campaign.

Let’s not pretend she was some dumb teenager. We have her words from her most recent campaign. No wonder her voters feel betrayed.
