That is half the reason.

The other reason is that the parents who initiated the recall positions were mostly residents in Tholen and Cohen's district.

They started with their own school board reps. Many of those volunteer parents doing the heavy work in the beginning were mostly from the local areas covered by the petitions. There has to be some level of local support to get the petitions publicized and signed. Cohen and Tholen's area both had a large number of parents willing to work on it.

If you are in Karl's zone and are ready to get involved, reach out to that group. I am sure that they would be happy to help your friends and neighbors with a petition to recall Karl.

So do they now have enough signatures to at least trigger the recall process for Tholen? She is just as bad as Frisch.

I believe they should. They said they were only about 150-200 short a few weeks ago and they had some BIG events over the last few weeks as the recall efforts have gone more mainstream.

Yes, they have to verify each and every signature (to make sure it doesn't get thrown out by someone using a fake name or address), but I believe they have gotten over the number. They were hoping to get 10% over to cover for how many signatures are usually false.

Considering the signings have only been in 2 districts, that number for Omeisch is very solid. They should easily get her number once they start having signing events in all the other districts.

Getting to almost half her required numbers in only 2 districts is pretty impressive. Those moms have been working very hard. We all owe them a debt of gratitude.

I didn’t vote for Meren and live in her district. I would not support a recall now. She wouldn’t have been my first choice but I have not be as upset with her as the others. I like some of the things she has written over the last year and she’s done better than I thought she would have. I’m not sure if vote for her again but there are far worse, like Omeish. It’s not wise to recall everyone at once.

Please remember this at the next election and do not strictly vote for any one party. Do your research on each candidate. That should be common sense but we have lost that here.

I would sign for Maren JUST BECAUSE she did not want kids in school all last year, BUT hired a private tutor and had a "pod" for her own child. (FCPS virtual learning was good enough for YOUR kids, but not HERS). She also swore school wasn't safe for kids but then let her own kid play travel soccer. OK for me, but not for thee!
