I’ve read quite a bit of this thread and want to clarify one thing. BLM is not a political organization. It is a social activisism. The 13 principles State except everybody for who they are. Everybody has value

If it is the latter, the teacher and any administrators who are responsible need to be fired immediately.

Along with this racist: https://twitter.com/marya_hay/status/1230546821346471939?s=20 It's insane to think that MPCS pays this woman to spread this kind of hate.

"privledge"??? That's what she has written on the giant white sticky.

The fact that schools are teaching this is ridiculous. As a black parent, if I want my kids to learn about political activism in school I want them to learn about the difference between MLK, Fredrick Douglas, W.E.B, Carver, Eldridge Cleaver, Rosa Parks, Mary Bethune...I want them to learn about the "HUMANITIES". Each of those EDUCATED individuals contributed more to American history then BLM has.

It shouldn’t be either or. Your kids go to a school that don’t teach all those things? Wow! Are you in Mississippi?

I’m dense? You send your kids to a school that doesn’t teach MLK, Frederick Douglas, etc

You're blind too. I never said my children attended an institution where that wasn't covered. Lord help you, your family tree is one straight line isn't it.

And as a black woman, no, I don't want my MSer to be taught that. I want them to have a quality education, grounded in the humanities which should teach and introduce those major concepts. BLM is political activism. If they are going to teach it, it should be taught in a course on the history of western political thought

Do I think the government should deny the label of family to a family when their father dies at war? I ABSOLUTELY disagree with the GOP definition of nuclear family that does not include widows. Not only do I disagree with it... I think it’s godless and a sin.

Also.... pssst <whisper> that’s not 1 of the 13 guiding principles.
