It doesn't generally happen publicly, because it raises the risk for identification much, much highe, and there is no "need to know." Alas, all the ghouls out there who couldn't/wouldn't accept it happens forced this point. I hope the child is not identified. Goddammit, though, she was someone this rapist knew. How many 10 year old girls were close to him? Bless her heart and her privacy. |

I am so worried that this will result in her being outed, even just in her own community. How many people will be able to associate this guy with a 10 year old girl who recently took a trip out of town for a few days? This child has already endured so much trauma, and now may be subjected to that much more as her community gossips and speculates about her. |

Here is another aspect of this case I find disgusting.....
Sickening. So, he can post bond and be out on the streets to rape more little girls. This is just plain wrong. People like this should not be out on the streets. And, he is undocumented to boot... which means.... a flight risk. |

In general sex crimes just aren’t treated with any respect. Two huge examples are the thousands of rape kits on police shelves across the country (many of them serial rapists who could have been caught before they ruined another few women’s lives) and the fact that those gymnasts went to the FBI to report Nasser and nothing was done. The through line between forced birthers and rape/rape culture is misogyny. It is the animating hatred that powers many peoples lives. |
