PP here. You're preaching to the choir, as they say. I've worked with kids from all walks of life for years. I care deeply about all of these kids, regardless of who they are; but it is expensive. There needs to be more control over the number of immigrants arriving and staying here. We already have impoverished, struggling children whose parents are American citizens; and we aren't doing enough for THEM.

Your standard of living is being lowered because wealth is being distributed upward at unsustainable rates. Infrastructure is crumbling, we're not investing in our people, and the middle class is being hollowed out. Immigrants are the latest boogeymen being thrown in our faces to get us to ignore that fact. In the recent past, the enemy has been terrorists, Iranians, and usually the commies. I even remember a stint where the Japanese were being blamed for our problems.

I agree with you that those are all issues.

I can agree with that and also realize that illegal immigrants certainly aren't helping my quality of life. Why are wages being suppressed? My neighbor is trying to run a small business, and pay for healthcare for her employees who clean residential and commercial accounts. Impossible to compete if you want to follow the rules in MoCo. How can she compete with illegal immigrants who are willing to work for pennies on the dollar, forego healthcare (because they can get it through the state with a low reported income)?

Using tax money to pay for services for illegal immigrants certainly isn't helping the shrinking middle class in MoCo. Sure there are lots of factors, but illegal immigration is most certainly one of them.

I long to see the hypothetical world in which Beto O'Rourke is president and actually has to deal with the thousands of immigrants requesting "asylum" at the border.
