They changed it to extend the story... curious to see how they explain the separation between Tully and Kate given where things are left with the Girlfriend Hour at the end and that Johnny is either in Iraq or dead from the Landmine...
Book spoiler— In the book, the girls become estranged because Tully ambushes Kate on her show telling her she’s a bad mother to Maura... |
| I can’t stop looking at K Heigel’s face. Filler central—ugh! |
She was really mad at Tully so there must be more to story then that....so curious now! |
| More likely she slept with a messed-up Johnny when he returned from war. |
| I thought the preview looked AWFUL. Ended up watching 7 episodes yesterday. I really enjoy it! |
Ha, same! |
Me, too. But I'm only watching two episodes at a time (on episode 6 now). The show is like the TV equivalent of Xanax, and I need that right now. |
This is what I think. |
It's like 20% based on the book, 80% completely new plot. The girls becoming best friends, cloud being high all the time, and them meeting Johnny at KPOC is in the book. Other than that, it's all new content. I dont' want to spoil anything here but for example, Sean is not gay in the book; Kate and Johnny have three kids (Marah, and twin boys); there's no Tully/Max plot, etc. |
Yes loving this too! I have 1 1/2 episodes left. |
Same, it's like someone needs to just pop it like a balloon |
| I love Beau Garret as Cloud! |
|
Oooh, it IS a book. That's why it seemed familiar. I did read this a while ago. I watched the first episode. I'm def going to keep watching
|
Same. And I can't help imagining how lovely she would have looked if she aged gracefully without them. |
| I finished this last night and really enjoyed it more than I thought I would based on the reviews I'd seen. I've not read the book, so it's interesting to read about the changes they've made. I hope they come back for a second season - otherwise that's the worst ending for a show ever. |
