Firefly Lane on Netflix

Kate’s house was ridiculous. I wrote it off as a classic example of Hollywood giving its character me a place to live they could never actually afford. Unless The Girlfriend Hour was nationally syndicated?

The other thing that bugged me was Kate not having a career. In the book she had Marah and then twin boys. I get that they didn’t include the twins, but it’s harder to explain why a career-passionate woman gave up her career to be a SAHM for an only child.

^^^ NP who hasn’t read the book: why did they exclude the twins?

I thought the two actresses who played them as teens were fabulous. Being a dark brunette does not suit Heigl at all. And while she naturally has a full face she absolutely has had work done. She was moon faced and looked bizarre. The constant “hit you over the head” references to products and cultural references to establish timing felt so unnatural and forced. It’s not going to win any awards but The show was fun though.

Yes people claiming Katherine Heigl’s wrinkle-free face is just full and round are delusional. She clearly had fillers, those are not natural cheeks and she has zero lines on her face. And dark brunette looks terrible on her.

That being said the young actresses were my favorite part of the show. They were adorable. And Johnny is hot.

Possibly Botox, though she’s only 42. Fillers, no. She has no need for them.

And you're using pics from 15 years ago to make your point, lol?

That’s the point, genius. To show that her full face is nothing new - she’s always had it.

I think poster used these pics to show that Katherine has always had a full face. I have the same face, full and round

Same here. I’m now 52 and my round face/full cheeks are the bane of my existence. I would never consider adding fillers to them!

Of course she’s not. A full face usually gets fuller with age and weight gain.

So full faces have zero wrinkles? Come on, she’s had Botox or fillers! Look at her eyes.

I already acknowledged that she’s probably had Botox. We can agree to disagree about the fillers.

She's had both and has overdone it just a bit.

Just finished it.

Didn’t love Sarah Chalke’s character. She was too over the top wimpy for me. Her husband was not even close to ending in her level.

I’m not a KH fan but preferred her over SC.

Hated the cliffhanger ending.

I just finished it. KH would look SO much less harsh with lighter-colored hair. I am glad her character didn't sleep with the guy who bought her show and kept her integrity. I have not been a fan of KH since her comments trashing Grey's and then trashing her Seth Rogan movie. But I think it took guts for her to play a character who uses people and doesn't treat them well.

I wonder if Sarah Chalke respects the character she played. WTF with that mansion she and Johnny lived in? He must have been pulling in cash like CRAZY to afford a mansion on the water like that! Also, it didn't ring true to me that they all smoked and drank so much. Seattle is a pretty health-conscious place.

That said the guy who plays her emotional crush is incredibly off-putting to me also.

I just kept wanting to punch him in the face. And not because he had an emotional affair with a married woman. I really disliked that actor I guess.

They had no chemistry and it was just so clear. A shame, since he had nice chemistry with the Cloud actress on Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce.

Sarah Chalke is on my very last nerve in this. I really can't stand her character as a present day adult. I very much prefer Katherine Heigel's look to Chalke's too skinny, ridiculous glasses, mousy hair and wrinkles.

I hated how they ended every episode on a cliffhanger, making you think one of the characters was going to do something horrible, only to find that it was a silly twist.
