I can’t believe this idiot on here arguing that intent to overthrow the government is a political affiliation and these people shouldn’t be discriminated against. PP, wake the eff up to what’s happening here. I know it’s upsetting but you’re probably one of these fools saying we should try to unify and just let the Nazis do their thing. You can kiss your democracy and all it’s anti discrimination laws goodbye. |

Don't we all have skin in the game (if you can call it that) of attempted violent overthrow of the government? Not to mention that insurrection is really, really bad for the local tourism industry. |
| I wonder if "rioter" counts as a political affiliation. |
I think this is a bit exaggerated. |
| Which part, specifically, do you think is exaggerated? What do you think was going on at the Capitol on Wednesday? |
It is exaggerated and ignores that the general societal skin in the game is very different from a homeowner who can directly earn a lot of money from listing a place on AirBNB. |
I'm arguing no such thing. Intent to overthrow the government is not a political affiliation. But, a Nazi probably is, and more critically, you can't paint everyone who would want to come to protest as a Nazi or otherwise intending to overthrow the government. You are proposing to refuse to rent to anyone coming to protest Biden's inauguration and there is no effective way (even if it were legal to do so) to only avoid renting to those actually intent on violence. Tons of people came to protest Trump's inauguration. These people weren't coming to overthrow the government; they were engaging in their First Amendment rights to express their displeasure at the incoming government. As much as it galls you, people on the right have the ability to do that too and you can't simply dismiss them all (although some certainly are) as nut jobs intent on doing harm. |

You're comparing the Women's March (total number of arrests: zero, as I recall) on January 21, 2017 (the day after the inauguration) to the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. Maybe consider not doing that. |

Well, sure, if a homeowner can directly earn a lot of money by renting to armed insurrectionists, why not?!?! |
Again, if you feel so strongly about this, feel free to compensate that home owner for his losses. |
People do not lose their right to protest because you don't like their cause or because prior protests by people with similar views crossed the line from peaceful protest into more. |
Lol. They are calling for armed riots next week. There are detailed, credible threats against lawmakers associated with them. It’s not a peaceful protest. |
They aren't basing it on political affiliation -- unless you are suggesting that the whole Republican party is in on the insurrection and planned violence? |
