| It isn't just the parents. The coaches screaming, "Brayden, cross it to Jayden. Hayden, take it up the right. Aiden, take the throw in." How are these kids going to be able to make their own decisions when their Coach barks out every move they should make. |
On the field and on the sidelines, it's true that boys games are much more intense. When it comes to keyboard warriors though, the PP is 100% correct. Parents get downright crazy when it comes to their daughters. It's actually kind of fascinating. |
I was at Pine Ridge for the Rec All Star tournament this past weekend. The BRYC coach for the U10 girls (Either U9 or U10) was AWFULLLLLLLLL!!!!! He did not stop screaming. I don't know how anyone and I mean anyone can stand to be around that guy. Joysticking everyone! After the game, they wanted all the girls in the goal for a quick picture. He still couldn't stop yelling. Yelling at kids. Yelling at parents. Yelling at asst coaches. Thank GOD the games were only 30 minutes. Painful! |
Because I'm paid up and my child is tone def. Coach's problem to solve, as long as I'm not the issue I could care less if those idiots make a fool of themselves. |
We had moms yelling- “get her! take her out!” u11 |
Must be a BRYC thing. We played one of the boys teams in a tournament this year and he was SCREAMING at the U9 boys |
No, that is a Rec Dad coach thing. |
LOL, REC... Agree, rec teams have no club difference. |
|
Rec coaches are insane. Most are dads.
Parents have been fighting at showcases in older age groups this past year... |
| In every experience, rec parents and coaches can be unhinged and don’t really understand the laws/how the game works. I was watching a game earlier this year in which a decent forward was using his body well to shield his marker out. A parent from the other team was constantly losing his mind, berating the ref, and complaining to anyone that would listen that the forward was “using a travel move.” Eh?? |
A travel move LOL |

I have a kid in a D.A. and we've seen all sorts of crap at this level. Yelling at their own kids | other kids | other team kids | refs | coaches | each other. I've seen two incidents of pushy-shovey in the last year, and one incident of racially-tinged comments about a player and a ref.
I'd be more than happy if every game was live-streamed and no parents could watch in person. |
That's hysterical! |
| My kid’s rec coach and parents are awesome. The coach yells encouragement and to tell the players about a substitution. Otherwise, not much. The parents cheer the good plays, even by the other team. But we have run into other coaches and parents who are waaay too into it. One parent tried to poach a few of our players so her kid’s team would win more. They were eight. A few coaches are known to be consistently obnoxious. We are really lucky to have ended up with the group we did. We would have had to switch teams if the grown ups couldn’t behave. |
That would be the U10 coach. Please don't slander the U9 one. |
