| I'm guessing it's either a pest repellant device, or an air compressor for power tools. |
Of COURSE she can't give specifics, folks. She lives in an upscale neighborhood, after all. You don't just air your grievances with the neighbors when you're upscale, you must be mysterious about the conflict at all times. |
| I'm guessing a noise to scare away birds or rodents. |
| I hope they turn up the volume of whatever it is because you are annoying. |
| Are you an Executive, OP? Is that how you afforded your Upscale Neighborhood? |
| It must be something "low class" since OP mentions their upscale neighborhood. |
| Oh oh. I bet I know what it is, guys. I bet the neighbors are Hispanic and play loud Spanish language music. |
|
Well, my thought is that if OP won't reveal what it is, then she must realize that she's in the wrong. It sounds like she thinks that if she tells what the noise is that the masses will automatically tell her she's being unreasonable. If she keeps couching it in vague terms, she's hoping to garner some sympathy and some "I told you so" support.
OP, if you won't tell, then you're wrong and unreasonable. |
Bingo |

Is it something like a meditation fountain and you just don't like the sound of the loudly babbling brook?
Or maybe it's the filter for the koi pond? |
| wind chimes? |
| I'm guessing it's a police scanner. Lots of detectives work from home these days and keep one running 24/7. Not much help to call the police or the HOA. |
| OP here. It doesn't matter what the noise is and I'm not going to get into more details about it. The issue is that it is 24/7, it is bothering my family (including baby) and pets greatly, and it is incredibly rude of them to keep doing this. Now the question is how to approach the noise issue with the neighbors when a) we've already discussed this 3 times previously (and they turned it off each time but then a few months later the noise reappeared), and b) why are they so inconsiderate as to keep doing this after we have been complaining? They are not being very neighborly which really annoys me because we have been very neighborly towards them in the past. I only mentioned that it's an upscale neighborhood because things like blaring loud music 24/7, or constantly barking dogs, or other noise issues do not tend to happen in this neighborhood, due to having an HOA and neighbors wanting to keep the neighborhood nice. However, these same neighbors that I'm talking about parked their boat on the street for 1 year, with lots of neighbors complaining it was an eyesore, and the HOA president did nothing because he didn't want to "stir up trouble"--our HOA president is not very effective. |
You sound like a whiny, unreasonable asshole of a neighbor. Maybe they are doing it just to piss you off because you complain so much and feel compelled to tell them what they can and can't do. Perhaps the HOA president won't step in because you have no case. |
Well they are in violation of the HOA noise ordinance, so it's not me telling them what they can and cannot do. It's the HOA covenant that is saying they cannot do this. Also they are in violation of county noise ordinances because this is 24/7. I have recordings of the noise timestamped at 3 in the morning. There is no question that that is unreasonable. |
