Listen to yourself. Let me just change your sentence ever so slightly. “You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think black people have some stuff to fix.” Anyone who says something like this would be labeled a racist. To group all people, of ANY color, into one group as you have done and as Hillary has done is just plain wrong. |
Here are some stats on police shootings for you to peruse.
Twice as many white people were shot and killed by police in 2015. The majority of all these were justified shootings. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/police-shootings/ |
This whole thread is a little confusing.
The riots in Charlotte were in response to a shooting there. A Black cop killed a Black man. Cops say he had a gun--others say he did not. There is no tape that I know about of this shooting. The other shooting--which, at this point, is much more disturbing to me--is the shooting in Tulsa. That is the shooting where there is tape. In my opinion, it looks very, very bad. My problem with this whole issue is that some of the deaths that have resulted in awful riots have been proven to be a result of really bad behavior on the part of the victim: Michael Brown, for example. All the riots and destruction over his death make the whole issue look bogus. That takes credence away from those deaths that are seriously questionable. The death of Freddie Gray and the riots in Baltimore are another example. When people riot over deaths that are not a result of police abuse, it raises questions over disturbances that are a result of abuse. As far as the "conversation", I know that in my white family, we had that conversation with our son. NO ONE likes to be stopped by a police officer. I do not believe that police are out "hunting". I do believe that very poor judgment has been used on many occasions. |
np You don't think it happens to white men and women? And DAILY? You believe there are 365 killings of unarmed black men a year by police? Show some understanding of the facts. |
Do not throw something and divert. We are talking a about HOW MANY innocent WHITE people were killed by cops unjustly? Not accidentally, big difference. |
The double standard is how reluctant she was to speak out against an Islamic terrorist, yet immediately condemns the cop and extends it to "how we are as white people." For the umpteenth time, I didn't hear her take to the airwaves and admonish Muslims that "this isn't who Muslims are." |
it is simple. Tell me how many innocent white people are killed by cops unjustly? I didn't say every day a black man is killed by cops unjustly. But even one innocent black person killed by cops unjustly is one too many. ANY INNOCENT people killed by cops is one too many. So your turn without any more diversion and denials. |
You are intentionally deaf and blind. There is no cure for that. Always denying and diverting. Look inside and introspect for a change. Go read up with the mind of an unbiased human with sensitivity to ALL HUMAN LIFE. |
I agree that any innocent life taken is one too many and race isn't an issue unless it can be shown race was a reason. And you said ''happens daily to white men'', so what does that mean if not daily to black men. So, tell me how many innocent black people are killed by cops unjustly. After all, it is YOUR contention, not mine. |
Her comment about talking to white people is racist. Period. |
And you are an idiot. I'm not diverting - YOU are. I posted because if the double standard surrounding an Islamic terrorist (and not castigating all Muslims) and a "bad" cop (and condemning the police in general and scolding white people.) Everyone here is diverting to another thread about blacks being killed by police and ignoring the double standard. |
yes. can you imagine if she said "I'll talk to black people" - lumping them all together? |
Hillary Clinton is white and a woman. What is wrong with her voicing her opinions based on her personal perspectives as a white person or as a woman? Are we really so naive to think politicians aren't individuals with distinct views capable of offering insight on issues through the lens of their individual experience and narrative?
If a gay man is elected to an office is he expected to keep his mouth shut on matters that he may have some perspective on? I can understand the objection to him initiating policy based solely on his sexuality but is he not allowed to speak to a community he is familiar with? Is he not allowed to call attention to events and issues within that community? I hear posters on hear yapping all the time criticizing President Obama because he's black but doesn't address problems within the black community so why is Hillary being criticized for the opposite - being white and having the audacity to speak out about problems within the white community? |
Maybe that's part of the problem right there. That a black president does NOT criticize the self-inflicted failings of the black community but it's fine for a white person to criticize white people. It's like whites are the only "safe" group one is allowed to criticize, because anything else is considered racism. |
as was pointed out in the PP you're responding to (which apparently you didn't read: 77% are NOT BLACK. but, only Black Lives Matter. Right? |
