Does anyone other than me see the double standard here? Look how careful Hillary (and the other liberals) were not to rush to judgment against the Islamic terrorist, saying we don't have all the facts - yet when it's a white police officer involved, she immediately condemns all police and white people - whom she said she "can speak directly to" (!) before any investigation has occurred.

Instead, she should have said that although it doesn't look good for the cop, we have no facts and must not rush to judgment AND criticize the violence the erupted in the black community as a result. She is acting just like Obama - jumping to defend the black guy if a white guy is involved - without knowing anything about the incident. But at least Obama said the ensuing violence isn't the answer. Hillary is so desperate for the black vote that she's afraid to criticize their own unacceptable behavior.

You do not get it and will never get it. Another cop kill's a black person and you think she should not spoken? She was not rushing to judgement. This is unacceptable behavior of the cop. Whether the black person was guilty or innocent, cops do not have the right to kill. Even if it is a terrorist, cops do not have right to kill, unless it is to protect others or self defense.

How do you compare her not "rushing to judgement" about whether an event is bombing or something else; someone motivated by extremism or personal grievance; connected or unconnected etc to denouncing a cop killing another black?

No. She was correct to have spoken. But what she said was wrong. Why is she condemning all police and all white people - especially when we are repeatedly admonished not to harbor ill will toward Muslims in general because of a few bad apples? I really resent when she said "I can speak directly to white people" - as if we all need a scolding. Can you imagine if she said, following the terrorist attack, that "Muslims are better than this" and that she "will speak directly to Muslims"? It's the double standard.

Where did she condemn all white people? She said white people are better than to judge black people as criminals all the time. What's wrong with that? If you don't judge blacks as criminals then you are not one of the white people she is taking to.

And there goes the snide put-down from the liberal....

I am really tired of all this crap becoming so focused on race.
The reality is that police shootings are usually justified.
When they aren’t, it isn’t always a person of color shot by the police officer.
And, it isn’t always a white police officer doing the shooting.

From the WaPo today:

"Scott is one of at least 702 people who have been fatally shot by police so far this year, 163 of them black men, according to a Washington Post database tracking fatal officer-involved shootings.”

That means that 23% of those shot have been black men.
What the stat does not include is how many of these shootings have been justified.... how many of these people shot first at police or brandished a weapon or attacked police first?

"The protests broke out Tuesday after 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott was fatally shot by a black officer at an apartment complex on the city's northeast side. They continued into early Wednesday morning, when TV footage showed dozens of protesters on Interstate 85 apparently looting semi-trucks and setting their contents on fire on the highway."

As a whole these protests are not protests but rather excuses to commit criminal acts. Much like some of those that remained behind in NOLA after Katrina who weren't stranded but saw an opportunity. How do we deal with criminal acts like this? Zero tolerance for all crime.

This insensitivity to what is happening to your fellow citizens of a different race on a daily basis is the reason for the mistrust of whites? Would you have made that comment and be so insensitive if white men are shot down by cops for no reason ? Therein lies your bigotism. Are blacks inferior to whites? Don't black lives matter to whites?

White people like you and me need to be sensitive about what black population suffers through. We can't paint them with one broad brush. Will you be talking like this if this happens daily to white men? That is the insensitivity ? Show the same understanding to every human regardless of race.

Where did you get the 75% , show some credible proof that 75% of innocent people shot by cops are white men. You know that is such a lie if you can't show proof.

Selective reporting is not a very respectable behavior. Here is part of what Hillary said in Steve Harvey interview responding to how she is different than Donald.

"When I went to defend young black kids put into adult jails in South Carolina, or went to Alabama undercover to expose racist segregated academies, or when I worked to get kids with disabilities the education they deserved, or stood up for women around the world who are often the last fed and ignored and marginalized, and everything that I believe in I want to bring to the White House. I want to build on the progress that President Obama has made during a very tumultuous time.

I mean, I’m appalled that Donald Trump will not apologize to the President and to the country for spending years questioning his citizenship and attempting to delegitimize him. And President Obama and Michelle Obama, they’ve kept their heads high. Like Michelle says, when they go low, we go high. And we’ve got to stay high. We’ve got to stay focused. And I know what we can do together to deal with more good jobs with rising incomes, making college affordable. I’ve got a plan for historically black colleges and universities because I value their work so much. And we’ve got to tackle systemic racism – this horrible shooting again. How many times do we have to see this in our country? In Tulsa, an unarmed man with his hands in the air? I mean, this is just unbearable, and it needs to be intolerable.

And so maybe I can, by speaking directly to white people, say, look, this is not who we are. We’ve got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias. There are good, honorable, cool-headed police officers. We have seen them in action in New York over the last 48 hours because of the terrorist attacks. We can do better. We have got to rein in what is absolutely inexplicable. And we have got to have law enforcement respect communities and communities respect law enforcement because they have to work together."

This does not sound like chastising or blaming the "white". It is appealing to people to not to give into prejudice and keep the injustice against black going on. And she did talk about the vast majority of police officers who do amazing jobs.

Exactly. Why can't white people be sensitive about people of color and their sufferings? Does lil bit of empathy to nonwhites make you less of a white?

There's really nothing left but to insult your intelligence, for you aren't bright. From her Facebook page: "Another unarmed black man was shot in a police incident. How many times do we have to see this in our country? This is just unbearable, and it needs to be intolerable. And so maybe I can, by speaking directly to white people, say, look, this is not who we are. We’ve got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias. Where does she "condemn" white people? Where does she "condemn" police officers? If there are so many unarmed white people gunned down, surely you can provide their names. Did you ever read Al Franken's Lies and the Lying Liars That Tell Them? Of course not. But there's a chapter in that book in which he talks about loving America (here you could substitute white people and police officers) like a grown up - it doesn't mean it has to be revered as perfect, it means you can love the good parts and work to fix the bad parts. You're kidding yourself if you don't think we white people have some stuff to fix.

You are FOS. You interpret as you wish and do not attempt to be open to the comments made. You insert race where it doesn't exist.

Zero tolerance for all crime. No race involved. Riots, not protests because when crimes are committed they are NOT protests, should be treated as a crime. No race there.

I am not a black person, neither am I white. While I knew there is prejudice against black people, I never felt it in my gut until I saw this: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/17/opinion/a-conversation-with-my-black-son.html?_r=0

Think about this. As a parent, we have so much to worry for our kids. On top of everything else, black families have to bear this. The other thought ran through my mind is, what if you are just brown? The same prejudice possibly holds true for the brown people.

This is disgusting that in stead of standing by the black community in these kind of inhuman acts of police, someone will criticize Hillary for speaking out. That is "double standard".
