I wouldn't be surprised for a delay. You have to remember that not everyone in the county has access to appropriate attire to stand out at the bus stop in 10 degree weather. It could be very dangerous.

please announce any changes tonight or no later than 5am Mon, mcps!

Plus one. There is no evidence to suggest a delay Monday morning.

The problem is that diesel starts to gel at 15 degrees and the engine won’t start. One late bus means kids wait in dangerous cold before dark in many cases.

If they delay, fine. Kid has an appointment that had to be moved due to the snow anyway (the office closed — their choice not ours).

If they cancel again, then I will really think MCPS is inept. I can’t see that happening but then again having only one day of school last week was inept too.

Accuweather is predicting 7 degrees tomorrow morning at 7 am, by 9 am 15 degrees.

The 7 degree conditions tell me to prepare for a possible delay.

+1

MCPS Code Green Message even hints at possible delay tomorrow.

NOAA weather maintains a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for tonight and tomorrow with high winds and cold temperatures. Temperatures are forecast to be as low as zero degrees tonight. MCPS staff and contractors continue to work throughout Saturday and Sunday to clear school parking lots, roadways and sidewalks of ice and snow. MCPS Transportation staff are clearing bus depots and all buses of ice and snow. We thank our teams for helping us to get ready for a return to school.

I’m good with a 2 h delay. HS starts ridiculously early in MCPS

With temps as low as they are and high winds…..delay.

The roads are clear. They've had all weekend to clear the roads. I just don't see the need. The only reason they'd delay is to give staff a break at the expense of our children.

I’d like a 2 h delay. It’s just too cold at 7 am

Really? Uncomfortable, yes. Dangerous, no.
