+1. We already moved out. Democrats are crushing our once great city of DC. |
| What concerns me is these kids committed armed car jackings. Since DC has the youth rehabilitation act up to age 26 now (!) And gun crimes are routinely oled down, assuming they will be free to do this again and again? I'm following this to see what the upshot is. The kids arrested, WITH a gun, announced by MPD District 2 today we're 14 and 15 I believe... Another decade left to play the system thanks to Charles Allen and his ilk |
I don't know why I am playing into this, but sure. Here is the easily found data that you will probably pick apart and say the crime rates were lower in 1950 so it can't be an ALL TIME LOW. You can find the annual crime rates here: https://mpdc.dc.gov/page/mpd-annual-reports And because I assume you will not actually go through those despite asking for a link, here's a snapshot of the homicide trends over the last 20 yrs. As you can see, 2012 was a record low. There is a 156% increase in murders when you compare 2012 to 2021. And somehow the change in trends is somehow Biden's fault even though crime was rising under Trump.
And somehow the change in trends is somehow the fault of "liberals in DC government" though there weren't conservatives in charge of DC government when it was lower. |
MPD needs to provide stats on how many of these teens are actualy convicted. Arrests are fairly meaningless in DC. the majoirty of arrests, including armed crimes, are likely not to get procescuted. And "kids" are back on street. |
That’s not an MPD issue, that is an OAG/Karl Racine issue. |
They (OAG/Racine) are absolutely asleep on the job, or worse willfully derelict. The pleading down or dismissing of gun offenses is especially weird in such an "anti gun" city. These kids enjoyed terrorizing people. There is no other word to describe having a gun pointed at you while doing errands in your car. They enjoy disempowering people. No other words for having your car taken from you ciminallly. They should be charged as adults with appropriate consequences OR locked up until 21 with release given consideration with perfect records ,counseling, completion of a GED, apologies/acts of community reparation AND enrollment in college, job training or a job upon release (offer that they applied for in hand). Stand down these terrorists! |
But these are CHILDREN!!! Can’t you understand they are young and come from lesser-resources communities? They are the real victims here. |
Well, you know - Democrats stupidly blamed Trump for all the violence and rioting in 2020 - as if he had anything at all to do with the various cities in which BLM was protesting. So I guess the current violent trend is indeed Biden's fault - by that "logic."

It’s 100% willful, but he gets to hide behind the juvenile confidentiality rules to not disclose things like what pleas are being given, what is the sentence ultimately handed down, etc. He is also actively seeking to make it so OAG rather than USAO decides what cases get prosecuted in adult court. |
The progressives usually view crime as just part of daily life in the city. In other words, the blacks just can't help themselves, and we're never going to change that. Let that sink in for a minute. |
I hope you are being sarcastic. |
Luckily, they aren't so poor they can't afford a gun. DC should have a guns for the poor program so that disadvantaged youths have equitable access. |
No, but it’s a variety of things that are more attributed to liberals than they are to conservatives. For example the defund the police movement, which is poorly phrased, as people who study the actual proposals understand that they don’t want to actually defund the police but moreso implement policies like using social workers to help overdose cases. However, it’s hard to deny that there is this movement, two move away from car several punishment, and that’s coming from the left. It’s driven by the desperate in packs in the statistics of who is actually getting arrested and going to jail. The problem is all these policies to make it easier for teens to offend and commit crimes and not go to jail, and all these proposed plans like the youth rehabilitation act and the second chance act and basically doing anything you can not to put people in a position where they were punished harshly or put in jail is actually having the reverse effect and causing more crime. Then there’s the endless verbal attacks on the police from groups like Black Lives Matter who basically portray the police as this menacing force all the time. That’s simply not the case. This is going to have real reverberation effects in November because a lot of the country is looking at you people who in the face of rice in crime are really doubling down on this week on crime policies. I live in PC and their carjackings are out of control. Also look at the politicians you were electing, for example in New York City look at that councilmember who praised the killer of those two police recently on Twitter. The democrat socialist lady. I’m too lazy to find her name. People see these things that on the left there is this real reluctance to actually tackle crime because the racial statistics are bad. You will need to clean up your act or you’re going to face losing elections and people are gonna move out of the city it’s because they don’t feel safe. You need to arrest and punish people no matter what they look like. Some people can’t get a free pass because they weren’t raised right or were socioeconomically disadvantaged or whatever for committing violent crime. we can’t just keep lowering the bar to try and promote some kind of miss guided social engineering. |
Sorry I was voice dictating from my phone. What I meant is the left is much more interested in moving away from incarceration to this sort of restorative justice type of movement and violent criminals notice this and everyone else notices if you commit crime, and now we have rising crime rates, and now you’re acting like you don’t understand why the rising crime rates are correlated. |
