Fine to support the kids. But, it would also be nice to support the straight kids who don't want to share bathrooms, locker rooms, or sports with the opposite biological sex.

This was originally a rally to protest the state rules. Changed to a rally to celebrate FCPS policy instead. That policy allows trans kids into the restrooms, locker rooms, and hotel rooms of those of the opposite biological sex.
Sports is still "iffy" because VHSL runs that.

During school sponsored overnight trips, chaperones and staff (all adults) who may identify as transgender are able to join students in lodging accommodations and FCPS School Board and Superintendent Reid don’t think is important to notify parents ahead of time. These adults’ feelings supercede the right of parents to draw boundaries around their children, particularly when it comes to safety.

We have the activists at FCPS and Superintendent Reid to thank for such a decision. Hopefully, it won’t add to the list of law suits that are draining our resources.

Serious question, do you think men don't rape boys or women don't rape girls? Why does it matter if chaperones and staff (all adults) who may identify as transgender are able to join students in lodging accommodations? Do you think only trans people harm kids? Never non-trans people? You think their whole purpose in life is to change gender to harm kids. Never priests, politicians, or other people you know, just trans people?

Men are more likely to rape women that women rape women. Are you for real? I don’t want a biological male adult in a room with my girl. Disgusting!

And in FCPS no adult, male or female, will be alone in a hotel room with your DD or DS. For the adults protection and the kid’s. Certainly no adult will sleep in a room with your kid. So you can calm down now.

Again, you don’t get to set boundaries for someone else’s children. Once you accept that, you’ll be able to calm down.

Honest answer to your serious question. Parents have the right to choose if they want their kid to participate in an overnight trip where accommodations for adults who identify with a gender other than their biological sex will chaperone or supervise their kids. In order to make that decision, parents need to be aware. It is not for anyone else to assume or tell another parent what boundaries are appropriate for their kids.

Unfortunately, Pride Parades and Drag Queen shows around children have not helped differentiate those who mind their own business from those whose sole identity revolves around their sex. Not everyone agrees to have their children around the latter.

Can you give us some examples (with FCPS) when children were forced to be around a pride parades and drag queen shows?

Sure. Current members of the School Board were present and even took pictures where kids can be seen. Whether these kids were forced to attend by their guardians - or not- I can’t provide you with that information, but I can assure you that the members of the school board that represent kids were comfortable with it. At the rate we are heading with the progressives at the Board, and their refusal to respect parents wishes over their children’s boundaries with topics of sex, it’s only a matter of time before they will bring them to read to our kids. And no, I will no Google for you who and when was involved. Do it yourself!

So you cannot.

Pride Parade DC. Lots of ugly stuff going on there and at least one SB member was there. It was not just waving rainbow flags.

This feels like a deflection. Are you deflecting from the fact that the FACTS are that no adults associated with FCPS took students to the parade?

I personally find the March for Life gross. But unless FCPS teachers or Admin start taking students, it’s just another DC parade or protest I can ignore.

See how that works.

And, if you weren’t for the work of March for Life, many of you wouldn’t be here.

More deflection. I see one gay adult going to the pride parade. And zero FCPS students. Why is it so hard to admit that you are wrong and FCPS sneaking kids to the Pride parade?

I don’t set the boundaries for anyone. FCPS does. And their boundaries are clear. You say trans adults could be in our daughters lodgings on school trips. That’s a lie. Adults do not lodge with unrelated minors on school trips. They don’t hang out in student rooms. They room check at night in pairs and sleep in their own rooms. That’s FCPS policy.

So cut they hysteria about a biological male staying in a room with girls. It’s a fever dream. And it shows you don’t have kids who travel for FCPS field trips or activities and are just making sh*t up.

There are fewer unwanted pregnancies because contraception and sex education are more widely available.

What about gay adults and bisexual adults? Do parents have a right to know the sexual orientation of chaperones too? Because that was what people like you were yelling about 15 years ago. (PS— no, you don’t have a right to find out the orientation of chaperones)

Also, tell me you don’t have a kid in FCPS without telling me you don’t have a kid in FCPS. DH and I chaperone for three different overnight activities between 2 kids at 2 HSs. We has to do a background check through FCPS and submit fingerprints. There are po”Ivies that keep us from being alone in a room with a kid— same or opposite gender. And, we certainly don’t spend the night in the same room as a student or students.

Also, the only scandals with sexual assault on field trips in FCPS that I’m aware of are heterosexual male student assuaging a young woman— see also the Oakton band trip and similar.

Parents don’t have the right to know the sexual orientation of chaperones, nor do they have any interest on finding out. Contrary to your believe, not everything revolves around sex in the lives of others.

However, parents have the right to set boundaries around their children to protect them from ideologies that find it offensive if anyone were to find out about the sexual orientation of a chaperone, YET remains silent about adults at FCPS constantly inquiring information regarding “sexual orientation” from minors through surveys and questionnaires. In fact, they find them age appropriate and developmentally necessary.

Because background checks don’t sort out common sense from radical gender ideology, parents have the right to draw boundaries to protect their kids. And because of the FCPS refusal to follow The 2023 Model Policies, now parents have the obligation to continue to do so.

Honest answer to your serious question. Parents have the right to choose if they want their kid to participate in an overnight trip where accommodations for adults who identify with a gender other than their biological sex will chaperone or supervise their kids. In order to make that decision, parents need to be aware. It is not for anyone else to assume or tell another parent what boundaries are appropriate for their kids.

Unfortunately, Pride Parades and Drag Queen shows around children have not helped differentiate those who mind their own business from those whose sole identity revolves around their sex. Not everyone agrees to have their children around the latter.

DP
I've read the part in bold at least 5 times and I need you to clarify please. Which surveys are asking students about "sexual orientation"? How constant is "constantly"? What are they being asked?

it seems you don't like them but you are also saying the surveys are age appropriate and necessary?

And what is wrong with supporting LGBTQ kids?

Fine to support the kids. But, it would also be nice to support the straight kids who don't want to share bathrooms, locker rooms, or sports with the opposite biological sex.

This was originally a rally to protest the state rules. Changed to a rally to celebrate FCPS policy instead. That policy allows trans kids into the restrooms, locker rooms, and hotel rooms of those of the opposite biological sex.

No one cares about straight kids or girls. Not PP, not the school board, not Democrats. They need to take a seat.

There are trans kids at my child's schools and so far there is none of the uproar that you and some of hte other posters are raising. There just isn't. Kids are, generally, naturally tolerant. They are taught to be the opposite and, from posters on here, I can see it is from their parents.

I'll also say as the mother of a straight teen girl in HS, I'm way more scared -WAY- of a hetero boy/man assaulting or harassing her than I am a trans child.

And this is where the thread should have ended but the psycho right wing trolls gotta troll

So that’s a no, no kids were forced by FCPS.

The March of Life is a disgusting display of misogyny. So many vile POSs.

There are fewer unwanted pregnancies because contraception and sex education are more widely available.

I'm sorry, but I'm still confused. Maybe it's just me. I'm not clear about the connection to unwanted pregnancies. Contraception and sex education are more widely available compared to...?

Before RvW/MfL.

Are they meeting federal law?

Yes. Youngkin is out of line with federal regs.
