10 year old girl has to travel out of state to get abortio

So does everyone on this thread agree that children who are pregnant should ALWAYS be allowed an abortion? Yes? And that laws around the country that don't carve out exceptions for CHILDREN to access abortions are heinous.

Let's all at least agree on that. And force all these laws to be amended to specifically state that minors are exceptions and that any minor found pregnant can receive a safe and legal abortion.

Okay?

Okay?

The anti-abortion side doesn’t agree with that at all. Their parental consent laws were a huge way that states chipped away at Roe before overturning it.

Okay?

How about we treat abortion like every other medical procedure, make it widely available and easily accessible and trust that women know what their doing with their bodies and lives.

Yeah, how about we do that, and if it violates your religious beliefs, then don't get one. But leave the rest of us alone to make our own decision.

Okay?

The Catholic Church would not agree with you in the least.

I wholly support abortion rights, so the only issues I have with your proposal is that it would leave these bans on the books for adults (which I get isn’t your point so I don’t assume anything about your views on that). But unfortunately forced birthers will not get on board with this because they think children should be forced to remain pregnant.

And unfortunately the Catholics are now running the country so we have to be more concerned about them than the separation of church and state or life and liberty. Obviously the pursuit of happiness is dead as long as the christofascists are in charge.

It is weird that as a middle aged Catholic I know very few people that support no abortion laws before 12 weeks or in instances of rape/ life-threatening
……. I often wonder who these people are….

About half of Catholics are pro-choice and that has been consistent for fifty years.

If that’s incorrect, please explain how you reconcile your views with the repeated efforts in this discussion to deny that the fact pattern could have occurred.

Sad. We are saying that THIS particular case is a lie. And by lying, this doctor has done a ton of damage

And how would you feel if the case were real? After all, these kinds of pregnancies do happen. Do you believe that when it does happen, the victim should have access to abortion without having to splash her name and story all over the media to satisfy your desire for lurid details and confirmation that the 10 year old wasn’t just a little whore whom didn’t bother to use birth control?

We are talking about THIS CASE in particular which, as time goes on, looks more and more like a lie.
There are so many red flags here.... not to mention.... that Ohio does not have a "6 week ban" on abortions. They have a heartbeat law.

The left is losing credibility by trotting out fake stories to garner outrage. I just hope the activist doctor who started this whole thing is held accountable.

It looks really bad for pro choice. If there are so many cases of this like they want us to believe, why use a fake case. Why not just use a real example

Explain how this would work. Should the raped pregnant 10-year-old schedule an interview with Anderson Cooper?

It's impossible for you to be that stupid

DP. Well then explain how we would have public information about individual 10 years who are impregnated by abusers? There are very good reasons there aren’t any publicized cases, but forced birthers prefer to deny those realities so they can pretend is just doesn’t happen in order to justify their depraved views on abortion.

Well it certainly is telling no anyi-abortion advocates have chimed in to say they agree.

They don’t want to give that ground because they don’t want to answer the questions that follow from it. If you truly believe that life begins at conception (or implantation) then you cannot support rape and incest exceptions because you can’t justify killing that life just because of how it was conceived. Saying you’re opposed to rape/incest exceptions is politically toxic, but if they admit to supporting them then they’ll face hard questions here about why it’s okay to kill an innocent life in those cases but not others.

Don’t blame me. I didn’t vote for Biden, or Nancy Pelosi

Prosecutors can confirm a case exists without disclosing the victims dentist.
