Agreed. That team is NOT Gonzaga Varsity. |
Lax bro culture. |

why would anyone question the new St. Stephens coach? Last year was his first year and they came in 3rd in the IAC with a relatively young roster. Bullis was loaded last Spring and Landon had one of its best teams in school history. Finishing 3rd place in the IAC is pretty impressive as the league is considered one of the best in the Country. Oh yeah, they also won the VA private school state championship. Not bad for a rookie season for a new head coach and new staff.

| SSSA lost to Calverton and the coach had numerous issues with players and parents. SSSA is a very good team the coach needs to learn how to keep parents, players, and admin happy. |
| I think that was the first game of the season, and as you point out it was unfortunate on many levels. Things improved significantly after that. My sense is the team grew up a lot over the year, which I imagine is because of good coaching and some hard work. |
What makes players and parents unhappy? Playing time issues? Poor communication? |
| If ALL coaches, parents, and players of a team were happy, then success is much easier to achieve. For SSSA it was an adjustment for all. New coach coming in after Taibl, some outstanding players w/opinionated parents, numerous suspensions of players during the season. Hopefully everything is better this season. |
| There is something in the water in Alexandria. ALC youth parents act like animals. Last year, their Denver commit mouthed off and shoved a ref, and the parents joined in abusing the ref. They really need to chill out. |
|
the Denver commit parents are nuts.
Everyone knows this. The kid should have been suspended / thrown off the team. |
| Things will be better this year. |
| The fall was very positive for SSSAS. |
But he'll give you a great deal on a photo album. The hocking of his services is embarrassing. |
| +1 |
SSSA has a ton of nut ball parents. Landon is worse though |

There seems to be an awful frustration for players who dominated against their 14/15 year old peers, commited to college programs as freshman, stopped growing and developing and now are regularly overwhelmed by their 17/18 year old peers. Especially the Madlax teams and their parents were drinking the cool-aid about their superior skills (and as a team, they are outstanding) and now cannot stomach the humble pie. That was very evident in the SSSA/Calverton game and really throughout the season.
-parent of a late bloomer who was almost cut as a freshman but grew/developed to a dominant player and now humble D1 commit |
