I totally get why she filed for divorce. I’ve been married 25 years, husband is 10 years older than me. I love my husband but he is truly stunted emotionally. It took years of therapy (while loving him) to understand why he was unable to fully “relate” to the kids and me. He’s a great person,I live him, AND I have almost always felt “alone” in our relationship because my husband is 99% in his brain, not with us. So, for everyone who can’t understand why they’re divorcing: imagine on the outside you have “it all” but really you are alone. You’d stat married? After your kids are grown? Life is too short

He’s worse than Hilaria. He reads a book and all of a sudden he’s an expert. He funds research, and now he’s a scientist.

I was in a small audience this year where he did a special surprise keynote on the pandemic. Everyone was befuddled as to why anyone thought he was an expert whose opinion mattered. Nonetheless, it was clear he thought his opinion mattered.

I can only imagine how irritating he is 24/7 IRL.

2. When he’s around, he lectures, micromanages and judges.

3. No fun. At all. Cerebral and boring.

4. Not loving. Not affectionate.

Very sad. Melinda is still a beautiful and intelligent woman. Just don’t get the mean comments about her looks. It must be very painful for the family after having invested so much into her family.

I detested Gates years ago when he drove so many young entrepreneurs into the ground by promising to bundle their products into MS but just bought their IP and ignored them. Detested his anticompetitive manipulation of his monopoly in hard ware (from picking up IBM IP not his own innovation) and using that to carve out a monopoly in software. Completely ruthless businessman. Now Apple is almost as bad (thank you antitrust laws for protecting healthy competition to some degree).

Bill only became somewhat acceptable to me after he married Melinda and launched his wonderful humanitarian invitations around the world. Many poor people benefitted. I hope that they both remain committed to using their wealth to do good.

Winblad is 70 now. So every year for the past 30 something yrs Melinda said ok to the yearly hookup arrangement. Their retreat was his ex gfs beach house? Would any married woman whose mono agree to that?

NYT far more credible than TMZ — it appears very likely from the many times that Gates met with Epstein that Gates would have had liaisons with multiple women, possibly underage. What on earth was he thinking, collaborating professionally with a sex offender and compromising the amazing food work of the Gates foundation - ten years ago, after many of the charges against Epstein had already been made? What shockingly poor judgment. Bill really looks decrepit now, unlike Melinda who retains her dignity.

Therapists say marriages break down due to one of the the 3 is (incompatibility, infidelity and irreconcilable differences). Melinda’s petition that the marriage had “irretrievably broken down” is probably based on all three.
