Okay but you didn’t remotely engage with what your SIL said. And you can’t “shame” a girl (WTF with the overuse of the word “shame” these days, BTW) for the clothes she’s wearing if you just don’t let her wear those clothes in the first place! This. Majority of bathing suits marketed to teens are this style now. The same thing with crop tops over the past few years. If adults don't want to see teens wearing these, then perhaps adults in the fashion industry should stop making them.

Well this might blow your mind, but I actually did let them buy the clothes. I DECIDED they can wear them and that I'm not going to make a big deal over a pair of short shorts that 75% of teen girls wear these days.
