He will, and I didn't get the spiel. We talked a lot what I was doing and he said keep it up. |
| Just listened to a podcast on This American Life that talks about phentermine. It's episode 589 Tell Me I'm Fat if interested. It was eye opening to say the least. |
| I'm an earlier poster checking in. Started taking pills with Dr. A on 3/25. I'm down 12 pounds (started at 192 and i'm 5'8). So, not rocketing down, but doing slow and steady. I'm pretty happy with how I'm doing. Not trying to do a full on diet that I can't sustain. Instead I've been making small changes that I know I can keep up with. So, I feel like my losses are much less than others, but very happy with them. Just got round two from Dr. A and I'm hoping to lose another 10 in the next 3 months. If I end the year having lost 30 total I would be very happy. But trying to take it slow. |

Please don't do it. Please.
Visit dietdoctor.com. Fast intermittently and go low carb. It's free, it fits into your life, and the only side effects are weight loss without lower g metabolism. Google Jason Fung. I'm 46, have a 3 year old, and I was 270 at 5'7" last year. I'm 225 now and I haven't even seriously implemented all of the ideas; I'm just occasionally intermittent fasting and I've lowered my carb intake and raised my fat intake. No hunger. Please just google it! |
It's MUCH easier to go from 270 to 225 than to lose the last 5-20 pounds which is what many of women who resort to Phen Pro are trying to do. Most of us who are just 10 pounds overweight can't lose that weight by just cutting out all wine or sugar or carbs and we already eat really healthy diets. Your experience isn't really relevant at all to someone who is trying to go from 145 to 130. How you are eating now is likely how we have eaten for years. |

Has anyone taken phen/pro and then been able to maintain their loss for a year or more? I've taken phentermine before and lost but quickly regained when I got off of it. My appetite came back full force and even though I ate healthy food, the quantity was too much.
I see people posting happy about their 10-30 pound losses but has anyone gone off and actually maintained? |
I would think it would be harder to lose 45 pounds then 5 pounds. If you only have to lose 5-20 pounds, you really shouldn't be taking diet pills. That's not a significant amount of weight. Many heavy women do eat comparably to much thinner women, BTW. |
+1. |
Im under the impression that you have to be at a certain BMI to take diet pills. I want to lose 10 lbs--I can't say need because I am not in the overweight category--although the top end of the healthy category--and I dont think I qualify based on a BMI of 23.5 Losing weight is hard for many people, fat and thin. the last 10 lbs for me is very hard because what it would take to get there is more than intermittent fasting and low carb, which is how I live. It would be upping exercise seriously and cutting out the treats and bringing all my meals, etc. Doable, but i'm not committed enough I guess. |
| Started 3 weeks ago. Down 7 pounds. Was hoping it would be more, but honestly, the scale wouldn't budge before the phenpro, so it's a start in the right direction. I haven't had a snack or a diet coke since I started, which is REALLY positive, regardless of what the scale says. Now, if I could just get away from the wine... |

My doctor just gave me a prescription for Qsymia. Has anyone taken this and can share what their experience was like.
I'm 5'4 and 212 lbs. |
I'm taking it right now. This is my second month (about half way through) and I'm down 18 lbs. Make sure to start taking laxatives with it. |
Eye opening about Phen or about being fat? There was very little said about Phen other than how the girl that took it keeps abusing it. |
How does she abuse it? |

I have been on Phen Pro for a month - what is the big deal? I have seen no downside and the upside is I can get in the clothes in my closet again. Gaining it back is a challenge no matter what you do to lose weight.
Losing weight and keeping it off is just plain hard. I personally welcome this option. |
