Heads should roll on this horrendous issue

This discussion has devolved pretty quickly into Obama's muslim roots. The gist is...leadership both in the military and the current administration have responsibility for this and is compounding it by punishing those who are brave enough to whistleblow and speak up.

The fact is this green beret is getting thrown under the bus, not to mention these kids. We are doing our withdrawal from Afghanistan. They've seen Iraq and are terrified..great time to set some.ground rules about what is acceptable to get financial /military aid and what are troops will not broker with. Starting by asking for a review by carter of this green berets situation would be a great first step.

"Devolved into Obama's muslim roots" - That totally proves that this is is a purely partisan attack masquerading as concern for those kids. It's disgusting that the right wingers would put a partisan attack ahead of genuine concern about human rights.

If not, why would this case of the green beret not be overturned already? I feel.so sorry for so many of our military members, up to the generals. It is so hard to be the voice in the wilderness. We see the consequence in this trial.

I think it's more insidious than that. We have a President who is much more sympathetic to Islam - probably due to his upbringing - than he is any other religion.

Lemme fix that for ya, "Obama's a secret Kenyan born Muslim Communist"

Dude, don't go halfway on teabagger moron, just cut to the chase and go for the TRIFECTA! We already know ya wanna!

Obama was taught in Muslim schools for part of his life. His mother, father, and grandparents were communists (see "little red church"). Your childhood does shape your adult views.

Thanks for confirming your paranoid idiocy for us.

FFS. How does one fact check opinion based on little more than rank speculation?

I wrote the previous post and was typing the post quickly on my phone. I can say, "devolved into Obama's disputed muslim roots, which are not true, and also irrelevant to this discussion" I for one do not think Obama is Muslim and think he was born in the US. I'm not a right winger and it can clearly be said that if an administration be it democrat or republican can preside over this it is a violation of human rights, and the current administration which has been here for 8 years takes some responsibility for this happening.

And you're disgusting for ignoring this human right and miscarriage of justice just to defend virulently an administration who has done some wrong. You can be democrat and still pinpoint when something is not right. Just because someone disagrees with you does not mean he or she is a right winger.

So Republicans suddenly are so very concerned about human rights? They're fine with torture, rendering innocent noncombatants for torture at CIA black sites, and indiscriminately killing with drones. But God forbid a Green Beret be discharged for assaulting someone.

Obama didn't attend a "Muslim school" while living in Indonesia. For nearly three years, he attended St. Francis of Assisi, which is a Roman Catholic school. He next attended a public school known as State Elementary School Menteng 01 (aka SDN Besuki), which was located in a prestigious district of Jakarta and home to scores of diplomats and high-ranking officials. There were, however, some Muslim students who attended the school, which is what is to be expected in a multicultural society. Despite what you heard on Fox News or read on Drudge, he did not attend a radical Islamic madrassa where he sat on a dirt floor while being indoctrinated by a crazed Imam. You guys need to stop with this divisive, hateful "Muslim" nonsense.

Well, geez, now I'm confused. Obama calls SD Besuki his "Muslim School" in Audacity. AP also published a registration document from Santo Fransiskus Asisi with his religion listed as "Islam".

Not quite - they are linked, in that our President is allowing these Marines to be criminalized, yet finds the time to come to the immediate defense others, including Bergdahl. Many of us want to know why.

Silly me. I thought the issue was child rape. Obviously, attacking Obama is much more important.

Can you answer why Obama has not weighed in on this issue? He is commander-in-chief, after all. Correct me if I'm wrong and he has weighed in on this issue, like he did Bergdahl.

If he weighs in, I expect he would do it privately with his generals and with the Afghan government. Because he wants to fix the problem, not get our soldiers shot by their own allies.

Perhaps he is a bit busy with the Pope at the moment and the coming arrival of Chinese President Xi Jinping? Personally, I am less interested in him "weighing in" and more interested in seeing major policy changes aimed at reducing, if not eliminating, child rape.

You're not going to get that by punishing those that try to stop it on our bases. He's clearly uninterested in doing so, given he'd rather go after our own boys.

He wasn't too busy to tweet Ahmed, the boy who didn't make a clock.
