Heads should roll on this horrendous issue

A one star general and a Col Johnson apparently expect our servicemen to listen to and tolerate man-boy sex on and off base. To support pedophiles. This is just so gross it will not go away. Unless we colonize the shithole how would we get rid of pedophilia?

I dont know. I do know it shouldn't happen on base. As to happening off base with people on our payroll,I dont know how you police that except a strong message that if we catch wind of it the money to that person gets cut off. I think stuffing their pockets with money is probably what they care about most, given the tremendous amount flying out on planes to accounts in Dubai. Overhauling the society, equal rights for women, children .... That is a long, long road they are on. It will take time and having educated non rapacious leaders in the country .

Many of you believe that because this man-boy rape has been going on for centuries and part of Afghan culture, we can't do anything about it.

What if it was in Afghan culture to kidnap random women that the commanders picked off the street to bring to the US base to gang rape repeatedly. Is that acceptable, also, and we should not protest and allow it to continue?

With an attitude like that we'd might as well just pack up and leave Afghanistan right now. It's already over.

The war is already lost when the US is protecting the Afghan fuckers who are raping Afghan children. The kids' parents come to the American soldiers for help and what do they do but shrug.

THIS ALSO HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OBAMA. OBAMA DID NOT WRITE THE UCMJ. THE UCMJ PROSECUTED SOLDIERS FOR ASSAULT LONG BEFORE OBAMA CAME ALONG.

Got it?

If you again feel the urge to say "Obama" or "Bergdahl" refer back to this post until it sinks in.

He's commander in chief. He's ultimatel responsible. His choices are clear

You think two wrongs make a right, you think the answer to any injustice is violent lawless vigilante behavior. That's obviously your "clear choice." It's not the choice I would make.

What would you do if you were USA military and children were being raped and chained to beds on the base and you could hear and see them? Analogy: Sandusky and Mike McQueery and Paterno. McQueery saw Sandusky in the shower. Fact is we need to get out of Afghanistan and severely restrict any immigration of Afghans. No pedophilia culture for other countries.

The "war" was lost before it was begun. The Russians could have told us that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Raw military might breeds arrogance and utter lack of understanding that Afghanistan was a tribal nation lacking a unifying ideology and national identity underscored the folly of our plan to bring democracy to Afghans.

Then dont put our soldiers in the position of dealing with it. Bomb al qaeda when they rear their heads/set up training camps - and call it a day. I think a lot of this will come down to state department guidance on prosecuting this WA. The generals are just following orders. Most of their recommendations were shot down by Obama anyway.

Ted Cruz - this is where Obama should be. He's not. Why?

"In the days that follow, we will honor our military. We will honor the commitments made to our Soldiers and Sailors, and Airmen and Marines, and we will protect our service members right to keep and bear arms and defend themselves. That means, the next time a jihadist walks into a recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, he’s going to encounter the business end of firearms wielded by a dozen Marines."

I agree. This "I feel bad you are so effed up' immigration policy of the West is stupid and harmful. You know, we have a huge body of knowledge, experience and wisdom in the West about therapeutic intervention on pathologies and addictions, dysfunctions and abuse, but even under the best circumstances a lot of times you can only just help survivors - we don't have a cure for the originating behaviors. Importing pathology is like importing an infectious disease - wrongheaded and harmful to previously healthy.

Was the invasion of Afghanistan about making the country "better" or about preventing 9/11 2?

The gun-free policy at bases and recruitment centers is in place for a reason (an extremely long standing one, like forever). It may be time to change it, it may not be. But grandstanding, is that a good way to reevaluate?

Ask Bush why he couldn't be bothered to track down OBL once he was allowed to escape from Tora Bora. You can't invade with the goal of removing the Taliban without a plan for a viable successor.

Its definitely time to change it. Given this is the second time troops have been shot and killed at recruiting centers. How many times does it take?????
