What if Biden does not bow out?

Then you vote for him. You keep Trump out. And we regroup in 2028.

Imagine this happening only 18 months ago when being a covid scold with an armchair degree in virology and epidemiology was all the rage. Oh, the pearl clutching at the sight of this dreadfully crass behavior!

America has shed its magical thinking—on this front, at least.

Onward!

Good point. But, nobody really believes he was sick. It was an excuse.

On another note...... 2nd gentleman, Doug Emhoff was diagnosed with Covid over the weekend. No big headlines about that either.

I thought he was sick. He sounded MUCH better the next day.

An absolute remarkable recovery!!!!!
He may have sounded sick at the debate.....that was his cognitive decline on display.

Same here. During the debate he was hoarse and congested and I kept thinking to myself "drink some water, Joe!" and he's been nowhere near as hoarse and congested since. Pretty obvious to me he had a cold, and anyone who didn't notice that maybe needs their armchair medical diagnosis credentials taken away for being clueless.

Dem voters are voicing displeasure in him as a candidate and asking him to step aside. He and his inner circle are ignoring the very voters he claims he wants to “serve.”

US looks vulnerable if we elect such an incompetent man

I’m (NC voter) leaning toward holding my nose and voting for Trump. I think we have to send a message to Biden, his yes men, and the DNC that they can’t shove an incompetent candidate down our throats.

I’m a registered Dem and leaning this way also.

I don't think voting for Trump is sending the message you think. Voting third party would be sending the message - although the third party candidates are a hot mess too.

You can have a cold and dementia at the same time. His cold did not result in him making zero sense.

Joe Biden could be in a coma and I'd still vote for him. He doesn't need to actually do anything. Shitler is not an option.

As far as I’m concerned, DNC created this mess in the primary by ignoring the majority’s opinion that Biden is too old. And left-wing media was complicit in covering up his mental decline. Voters are not to blame for not wanting to elect a candidate who is too far gone.

As I recall if there were at least three candidates in the Democratic primary. Biden crystal Lady and Dean Phillips, who came in third behind Crystal lady.

If you want to blame someone, put it on Mitch McConnell, and the Republicans who had a chance to take Trump out after the insurrection. They chose not to and we are in this mess.

LOL.
Yeah - and the debates between those three candidates were on fire!!!! LOL. That was quite a primary the DNC had.

Nice attempt at trying to blame Republicans for your piss poor selection of a candidate.

Are you a GOP or pro-democracy supporter? Those are the two potential outcomes.

I found two good Germans right here happy to welcome their new fascist overlords. Because they’re being snowed by right wing talking points.

Have a think back to 2016, “registered Dem” (cough cough a Republican who likes to vote in Democratic primaries). This is a butteremails. You notice how the media isn’t discussing Project 2025, Agenda 47, the Supreme Court’s corruption and baseless, blatantly partisan decision making, as well as Trump being all over the Epstein files? That’s by design. We’re being butteremailed. Well you are. I’m using my brain.

This isn’t real. Absolutely no Democrat will pull the Trump lever, ever, after the Supreme Court and Project 2025 and J6. Ds just need to get out to vote and they have the numbers to win, and that’s why the Trumpies want this chaos and infighting. Biden already beat Trump once, he’ll do it again.

There was plenty of opportunity for people to elevate and rally around younger candidates.

The DNC and Congressional leadership made it very clear that any Democrat that chose to challenge a sitting President running for reelection would have their careers destroyed. And that went for staff too. In theory, anyone could have challenged Biden for the nomination. But in practice, the DNC, Schumer, Pelosi, Jeffries and major donors ensured that it would be professional suicide both for the candidate as well as any staff that chose to work against Biden's reelection. Democratic leadership made it effectively impossible for there to be a meaningful primary process. Biden was chosen long before anyone could actually vote.

The present catastrophe is entirely due to Democratic leadership. They have nothing but disdain for actual voters, and firmly believed they could simply coronate a rapidly declining geriatric who would be 86 in a second term.

I don't think voting for a third party sends any kind of "message" either. People who claim they are "sending a message" by voting for the candidate they don't prefer or not voting at all are like toddlers stamping their feet. Nobody is listening to you! Nobody will hear your "message" unless that message is that you think Trump is a good leader and also want more restrictions on women's healthcare.

Despite what Biden might say, there is no Almighty listening to the voters and then deciding to do what is best for the people. There are only self interested politicians and operatives vying for power. All that voters can do is choose whichever politician most aligns with their interests and values. Citizens also have the option of organizing, advocating and even running for office, but of course that takes more work than not voting or voting for the other guy.

I am a life long democrat and will not be pulling the Trump lever but will be voting third party - so, probably supporting Trump getting into office. I am sure I am not the only one. Dems had their chance to pull Biden and chose not to.

There are more Independents and Democrats and you can bet that most of us will not vote for decrepit Biden this time.

It's either Trump or third party.
