Getting increasing worried that Biden will not bow out. He is tarnishing Harris with his reluctance (opening her up to attacks that she is covering up for him). Opinions for how all this will shake out that could result in a win for the Democrats? |
He would be defiant in public no matter what's going on behind the scenes, OP. Psychologically, he can't do anything else.
There's a growing push on the part of Big Donors and Democrat insiders to replace him with Harris (or someone else). It's going to be interesting to see how much "persuasion" it's going to take. I was giving it a few days, it might take weeks. But it has to happen. |
Bolded is the simply unsolvable problem. |
Here's another thought. Think about the principles the Democrats have applied to this situation. Pretending everything was perfectly fine to cover up a significant problem. Rebuking, ridiculing, ostracizing, and dehumanizing (MAGA, Russian bot, destroying democracy, etc) anyone who'd raise factually-based criticism or concerns. Refusing to address the problem when it became unavoidable. Allowing the party to self-destruct rather than taking easy steps to avoid the issue in the first place.
Imagine if they had tried applying similar principles to something important. Like social justice, or war, or whatever. I guess it's a good think they haven't. |
He is not bowing out. |
Why would America want democrats in charge of anything? They don’t care 1% about America. |
Doesn’t he have to bow out if his donors dry up? You need money to run a successful campaign.
I blame him less than his greedy family-they are the ones leading him to believe he can still win. Sad sad sad!! |
His cabinet will need to do it. If he won’t step aside, they will need to discuss removing him so Kamala can take over and run as an incumbent. Honestly, that is what should happen if anyone in his cabinet had even an ounce of integrity. |
I’ve posted this on other threads but it holds. We need to stay focused on keeping Trump from the WH. This is not about electing a specific candidate, it’s choosing what America we want to live in. I know a lot of people are not happy with the choice. I’m not particularly happy, but there will only be one of two outcomes. I’m certainly not going to be happy with a Trump outcome. Remember in 2020 we all said we would vote for a can of soup over Trump? The same thing holds today. |
Yeah but we didn’t do that in 2020. We elected a seasoned politician with loads of experience. Now he is senile and the experience is now lost in the sauce of his age related decline. Now he actually is a can of soup and voting for that when there ARE other people feels really wrong. |
We don’t need to settle though. The MAGA party is clearly a lost cause. But there is a possibility that the Democratic Party can turn this election around. Joe needs to release his delegates and we can move on to selecting a strong candidate to lead. Four months is plenty of time. People want a different choice and if donors press Joe he’ll need to rethink. |
Why is a lifetime conman and now felon who can’t stay awake on his own trial a nominee? Why isn’t THAT the big story? |
But I would still vote for that over Trump. |
Because we all know who he is. Republicans know who he is and like him in spite of/because of those things. And lots of independents are leaning that way. Biden is not who we thought. We thought he was still there. We have been lied to by the Whitehouse and frankly the majority of the media because it was covering it up by either not asking for more access or asking tough questions. The media, like you, was focused on how bad Trump is but never bothered to dig into the stories of Biden’s struggles or his ever more limited availability for unscripted events. I mean I only just learned after the Debate that he bailed on the G7 dinner. Wtf is that! We are still supposed to the the leader of the free world and he skipped it to rest up! No. No. He HAS to go to things like that. He then tells us after the debate disaster that he needs to go bed by 8pm. No. If that is what he needs, that is ok but then it’s just time to retire. He is NOT entitled to be the President of the United Stated and him staying in the spot is preventing us from having a good candidate who can beat Trump. He is acting like a king right now. He apparently can’t really do the job now and lots of people do not see electing him as any better than electing Trump. And with him in such obvious decline, much as I disagree, that position is not crazy. |
