I thought those were the coaches for Stars 2027 not Capital Orange

The 26 Cap Blue team isn’t that good

They are ranked 13th in the country - I'm sure you're ranked #13 in the country in whatever you do for a living Mr. Anonymous.....

Y'all have some weird energy towards children - you need to do some self reflection

Well said.

I know easier said than done, but there could be a lot of benefit to taking this route if someone can pull it off.

The reason being you know Capital Orange will play second fiddle to Blue. They will never play in the top brackets with Blue, they will not receive the same exposure to college coaches as Blue, and they will not get the same recruiting support as Blue. And many colleges do not recruit players from the same club in the same class, so Blue players will get this nod over Orange players every time.

If the next group of 20-22 players band together with Pride or Stars they will be the primary focus. You could have the chance to play in the top brackets, which would mean much better exposure to college coaches. The risk is these clubs do not have track records with recruiting. Pride is sending some players to great D1 schools so you could at least lean on this alumni for some guidance. You would want to make sure Pride or Stars has a recruiting plan in place starting from day one in the high school program.

Capital Orange is definitely an option. And some girls will be recruited from that team. But if a strong group can be put together I would choose another clubs A team for the reasons above.

Pride 23s originally had a recruiting plan too.

Yes. A few Pride parents were emphatic on staying together. College coaches recruit players and not teams. They learned the hard way.

That's actually not true. No parents were emphatic. It was obvious there were risks. The girls decided they really wanted to stay together, and the parents supported the decision. Naive maybe, but emphatic, no. With the proper management, could have been great, but their ineptitude and lack of caring was greatly underestimated.

Anonymous wrote:"Orange gets attention from the schools that align with the players." Is this poster saying they would get attention from different schools if they were on Blue or it does not matter which team you on? In the end it is still better to be on an A team at STJ Stars. STJ MC Elite, or Pride.

If and only if those clubs teams are playing in higher brackets than orange which none of them are except Pride

My guess would be that Orange, Stars and Pride would play in similar brackets and guessing that they will perform in that same order.

For 2026, CLC Orange is ranked 56 and Pride Black is 100.

For 2025, CLC Orange is ranked below Pride at 77, and Pride is ranked 59.

So the Pride A 2025 team is ranked 59? And that is better than taking Capital Orange?

Is Pride A 2027 going to be the same level of team as Pride A 2025? Heard they lost a bunch of players. Not sure you can really compare the two.

Neutral party here. It makes me genuinely happy that there are girls out there that value friendships more than lacrosse glory and the opinions of others. It probably cost the parents a bit in lost scholarship money, but the life lessons learned were probably more valuable.

Who knows? Someone posted the 2026 rankings, so I posted the 2025 rankings. My understanding is most of the 2025 Pride team left for Capital, as well. Everyone can draw their own conclusions using all the information available to them.

Agreed!

The relationship between Stars and Capital proved to be a very strong one this year. The middle school move now is to play for Stars so you’re in the Capital pipeline. This is evidenced by the large number of Stars girls put on both Blue and Orange teams this year. Pride had a much better team with much better players, yet far fewer girls were selected. Unfortunately, we’re in D.C., and politics is everywhere including middle school lacrosse.

Enough on the 23's!!! From a certain point of view, sure, the Pride 23's stayed together for friendship, but a more likely point of view was a few parents of Pride 23 players (that did not get their way with Capital leading up to try-outs) coerced the group into thinking there was a benefit to staying together, but were primarily thinking about the benefit of their daughters in recruiting by keeping the Pride 23 team together. And, let's also remember that KM forced 14 year old girls to decide to stay with Pride 23 for high school by locking them into agreements before the Capital try-outs that year.

That will change more than likely. Pride Black looks like they picked up a lot of talent.
