Rumor has it a few cuts from both Blue and Orange? Two new girls on Orange?

Do you know which club the new Orange players are from?

I know easier said than done, but there could be a lot of benefit to taking this route if someone can pull it off.

The reason being you know Capital Orange will play second fiddle to Blue. They will never play in the top brackets with Blue, they will not receive the same exposure to college coaches as Blue, and they will not get the same recruiting support as Blue. And many colleges do not recruit players from the same club in the same class, so Blue players will get this nod over Orange players every time.

If the next group of 20-22 players band together with Pride or Stars they will be the primary focus. You could have the chance to play in the top brackets, which would mean much better exposure to college coaches. The risk is these clubs do not have track records with recruiting. Pride is sending some players to great D1 schools so you could at least lean on this alumni for some guidance. You would want to make sure Pride or Stars has a recruiting plan in place starting from day one in the high school program.

Capital Orange is definitely an option. And some girls will be recruited from that team. But if a strong group can be put together I would choose another clubs A team for the reasons above.

Orange works. Don't walk away from a great opportunity.

Orange is a competitive team. According to the highly dubious rankings I could find on the interwebs, as of July 14, 2024 Orange is ranked #59. 2024 Orange should also move up after this past weekend in which it won its pool, won its first elimination game and then lost to M&D Black, 4-2 in the second elimination round. (I have to imagine M&D Black was missing some key players, but any compilation of the #1 ranked team should still be a formidable opponent.)

Orange gets attention from the schools that align with the players. Want your kid to go to an absolute top lacrosse school or a top IVY? She might get there, but that is a roll of the dice in any club. The stars (no pun intended) have to align. After the NECSAC process, 2024 Orange likely will have committed close to 90% of its players. The current 2024 Orange commits include Berkeley, Hopkins, Mercer, Chicago, Butler, West Point, High Point, Howard, Gettysburg and a couple others. Add in NECSAC commits in August-September.

Culture matters and Capital has a strong culture. The girls like each other. They understand they are there to support each other. During Orange 2024's most recent run, the girls and coaches focused their efforts on showcasing uncommitted teammates. The parents socialize together and like each other. The cross-selling of coaching and training can become costly and feels a little annoying, but is not necessary to participate in those. Finally, from this board one can discern that there are folks that have left the club or feel burned by it is some other way. I don't know or deny their experiences. It was not ours.

Make a considered decision. Don't let frustration over your DD not being placed on Blue cause you to miss a great opportunity.

The 25 class is probably the first class where you can decide if Pride Black is a better landing spot than CLC O. This is the first class for Pride's "new" recruiting director to see if she is adding value. Both teams are pretty equal as shown by the close game and while they might play in different brackets I almost think that is more by design than skill.

Still a huge gamble to make based on past history.

M&D smoked that average team. They frankly look terrible

History says M&D girls are likely to find themselves injured come recruiting time so hope they got good tape now…

"Orange gets attention from the schools that align with the players." Is this poster saying they would get attention from different schools if they were on Blue or it does not matter which team you on? In the end it is still better to be on an A team at STJ Stars. STJ MC Elite, or Pride.

If and only if those clubs teams are playing in higher brackets than orange which none of them are except Pride

Does anyone know who the Orange coaches are?

The 27 Pride red team has been taking a nose dive for a while. As a result, most of these girls have found new homes at other programs and were happy to leave and try something different. The new 27 team will look drastically different, and frankly, significantly weaker than the former. The team may be in the top brackets now based on previous results, but I wouldn't expect them to stay in the top brackets for long.

My guess would be that Orange, Stars and Pride would play in similar brackets and guessing that they will perform in that same order.

For 2026, CLC Orange is ranked 56 and Pride Black is 100.
