Capitol tryouts

2027 Cap, SW, MnD are all on July 10. Hero's are invite only. Crazy, but you have to pretty much put your eggs all in one basket if you aren't on one of the teams already. I'm not sure if clubs will ever make it more convenient for girls to tryout multiple places.

M&D and SW have already made offers to at least one current BLC player.

It is the right move to play for the Baltimore clubs for HS...congrats to those players.

Wow! Great for those girls! And may make Capitol’s teams a little less predictable?

Would a Baltimore or Howard Co (M&D, Hero’s for examples) team be considered a better move than playing for Capital? Not sure if they were considered “even”

Trickle down effect... Red/Blue/maybe white players going to be on the outside looking in with very few options post-tryouts.

Typically M&D Black and Hero's Green do better on the field than CLC B, but CLC does a great job on the recruiting front for their Blue team and on that front they would be considered even with the top clubs from Baltimore.

The 26 Cap Blue team isn’t that good

They are ranked 13th in the country - I'm sure you're ranked #13 in the country in whatever you do for a living Mr. Anonymous.....

Y'all have some weird energy towards children - you need to do some self reflection

We all know you aren't ranked anywhere but you got all the participation trophies lined up. The PP was pointing out that the 26 CB team isn't on a similar level as previous year Capital teams.

I think part of the reason CLC blue might appear to do “better” on the recruiting front is that many of the girls on that team are also high academic.

Historically speaking Capital’s first year seasons tend to underperform as it’s a new team of players from various clubs. Chemistry is still being sorted out, whereas other clubs (especially the Balto ones) that go from MS to HS have an established rhythm. Those clubs conduct tryouts to fill in specific pieces while Capital is creating an entirely new team. Year two is when Capital teams typically peak and perform their best.

Can you please elaborate on this?

That certainly was the case with 25 CLC B. It should be interesting if the 26 team follows history.

The same was true for the 23 and 24 teams as well

M&D and SW have already made offers to at least one current BLC player.
Maybe this is your DD, otherwise this is gossip. I would only move out of DMV if I knew she was going to be taken care of. Unless the girls are like Hannah Rudolph or Rassas level player, the Balto clubs are going to take care of their "own" first. These clubs were founded for that reason. M&D McD, SW NDP, yes the rosters have evolved, but don't be fooled, Baltimore parents do not want an "outsider" coming in so the clubs cater to their local HS players first. Remember, college roster lists where you went to HS, (club is only listed in some players bios), so Balto clubs want their local HS players to succeed first, everyone else is for the $ and general goodwill if they can make the team.

Yet SW and MnD have girls from Colorado playing for them. DMV parent with kid playing on an A MD "Big 3" team. Never felt like an outsider and my DD loves her team.
