| This student just went to class after he shot the other student. Acted like nothing happened.. the one who got shot was unconscious state. Wonder how they figured out who the shooter was? |
Right, I hear you. I think that was a subjective interpretation from an individual that has had a long day and would really like their employer to be trustworthy, not a paid PR post, but we can agree to disagree. |
Rumor has it that the victim was able to identify their shooter and tell medics. |
Cameras? They are everywhere. If they had smart cameras with accompanying AI software, it would be able to trace the steps of the killer. I bet they do not have smart cameras or very limited capability cameras. |
Yikes! I just read he was located in a classroom. I assumed an empty one, not back to his class. |
So. MCPS has a very outdated system of cameras, which I believe may not actually be working during school hours. In my children's elementary school years ago, the Principal told us they were not working and that priority was given to middle and high school cams, but I doubt even those would be working all that well... |
The assumption is that he went back to his normal class, but we may be wrong. |
There should definitely be a review. And yes, there will be a next time. Unfortunately, that’s the way society seems to be heading. I wouldn’t trust the current council, though. This is the council that removed SROs. I can’t begin to imagine how today could have gone differently had there been a trained LEO in the building with first-hand knowledge and training. No, the council is NOT the next step. |

That is considered authoritarian. Not going to happen in a free society. |
Not only MCPS and law enforcement, but the County Council and County Executive also want to sweep this under the rug. This is an election year after all. |
Then what do you suggest? MCPS is very good at doing "internal audits" that don't reveal any wrongdoing (surprise!). We need a higher authority to impose an investigation. We need parents to sue. We need both. And don't think that just because this Council voted one way on SROs, they want to defend what happened. On the contrary. Some of them voted that way to appease the woke masses in the wake of what happened last year, but may be actually quite ready to change course. I know I never wanted SROs to leave schools. I also want metal detectors. This shooting is the perfect opportunity for some people to enforce more security in schools. |

Perfect. He can come out of this a hero and announce more security in school buildings!!! |
Absolutely. This is what disgusts me the most. |
