Friend in TX has been texting me freaking out about the cases in her child's class. Over 50% of the class has come down with Covid in the last week, do you really want it like that? |
Seriously, there is something wrong with you. There is no lifetime immunity from COVID. It is a vascular disease. Wanting to avoid infection isn’t just about fearing death; it is a pragmatic desire to avoid serious disability and unknown long term effects. |

That means it’s time for a different approach. Get vaccinated. And stay home if you’re sick and showing symptoms, come back once you’re 24 hours fever free without meds and symptoms improving. Whoever heard of staying home for 5-12 days for a minor illness? |
Right. That’s why I said “everybody who could.” Those who can take the precautions (I.e. work from home), should. In part to ease the burden on those who cannot |
Yes, it really matters. KF94s and N95s are highly effective. It really matters. Stay in the kids about mask wearing. I have to believe that in the real world, people aren’t as willfully ignorant as many of the voices here on DCUM |
Hahahahah enjoy the rest of your LIFE not socializing and getting fat. Keep sacrificing. |
Clearly you have a huge chip on your shoulder because of this and won't be pleased until we have zero Covid? Did I get this right? No sniffle would be acceptable to you ever. Pandemic will not end until people stop freaking out and demand completely sterile germ free world where nobody is dying for any reason other than ancient age |
This isn’t going to go on for a lifetime. |
But it didn’t make any difference in the end. Covid is here to stay because of infections in mostly unvaccinated, developing countries. Your actions didn’t really make any difference. I mean, they kept you Covid-free (I’m assuming) which is great, for you, if that was your goal. But you staying home and giving up a lot of things that make life worth living didn’t meaningfully ease any societal burdens. |
You're contagious for 2 days before you have symptoms and some people don't have symptoms but can pass it on. |

Yeah, actually I would be pleased if we could send COVID to the realm of things like measles or polio. I think that is doable and would be a great thing. |
How would you know if you were contagious before you had symptoms? Most people aren’t testing multiple times a week. And the rapid tests aren’t reliable for people without symptoms or who have “non-specific” mild symptoms. |
This is 2020, today's "science" tells workers testing positive to get back to work 5 days after... And medical workers can work while they are testing positive, the same day! Are you living under a rock? |
