And all of the pro-masking families I know have passed covid around their own families at least once - including ours. ![]() |
Is this true - “While the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommends masks, its research has found no statistically significant link between mandatory masking for students and reduced transmission of COVID-19.” I do agree with this part: “ Masks are not the only method to reduce transmission of COVID-19. Local schools must ensure they are improving inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, replacement and upgrades of equipment to improve the indoor air quality in school facilities, including mechanical and non- mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, filtering, purification, fans, control systems and window and door repair. Other mitigation efforts can be made in consultation with health authorities. The benefit of mitigation efforts must always be weighed against the cost to children’s overall wellbeing.” Reducing the viral load in the air goes a long way to reducing exposure. |
Tell me you're clueless about the fact there is no vaccine for 4 and under yet and also an ableist who is clueless about how people on immunosuppressive medications don't have the same level of protection without directly telling me. |
Amen, rational person. So sick and tired of this Covid theater and so many by now already had it, that it makes no sense at all. Better thing, get tested for nucleocapsid antibodies, if you have them, you had Covid, confirmed. Move on. If you are worried after you had been vaccinated I don't know what will assure you, but many of us are tired to live our lives in the shadow of your permanent anxieties. |
Many many many children across the country aren’t wearing masks in school. |
They are not useless; there are better and worse ones, and any is better than none. Cite a reputable source for your claim. Who GAF about virtue signaling? I don't know where any sensible person gets that idea. I do think there are some trade-offs, but during the biggest surge ever isn't the time to be ditching them. |
My 2 year old is enrolled in a class where they want all the kids (all 2 year olds) to wear masks. There’s 7 kids in the class and 4 showed up in masks. 2 of them in masks below their noses but that’s apparently ok, and the other 2 in masks with big gaps around the sides of their faces. When the parents of the 3 kids who weren’t masked threatened to disenroll from the class at a full refund, suddenly oh it was ok, they can wear a mask if they can, if not, don’t worry about it. It stops when you hit them in the wallet. |
Stop your excuses! a few truly immunocompromised people isn't the reason to mask our children forever, because you know Covid isn't going away! And under 4 are not at risk from Covid and never were to start with. Data has been clear on this from the get go, nothing has changed. |
I’m vaccinated and boosted and probably more at risk for severe Covid complications than my 3 year old. |
Yeah. Just anecdotal, obviously, but our family has strived to be diligent about masking and the other guidelines for the past 2 years, and none of us have gotten COVID. We do not eat out indoors, we do not use our gym membership currently, we wear masks in public, we got vaxxed as soon as eligible, etc. it does not feel like a huge sacrifice for us, and if everybody who could also did this, the pandemic would be over sooner. |
This. Kids have been shown to be poor vectors of transmission. |
You are an idiot. |
Many of your neighbors have been working in person since sometime in 2020. We all can’t “just stay home.” |
Everyone keeps mis-characterizing fauci’s comments. He did not say that. He said that omicron will “find” almost everyone. Meaning exposure. Exposure is not the same thing as infection or illness |
4 year olds are not impacted by covid. They are negatively impacted by masks though. |
