They couldn’t do it in China where they were literally locking people into their houses and apartments. It’s not possible. |
I disagree. I think it did. Even if it didn’t/isn’t, doctors and medical professionals are begging us. So that’s enough for me to do it |
The point that it is NOT doable, it's more in the realm of flu where new strains emerge and sterilizing immunity is not possible unless you take boosters every 10 weeks. Zero covid isn't possible, it's been tried in other parts of the world unsuccessfully. It's a different virus. I don't even think anyone in CDC is pushing this nuttiness, and even Fauci said we will all get it one way or another |
That’s honestly irrational too. The people who will heed that advice are the cautious, vaccinated people who, almost certainly, won’t end up in the hospital anyway if they contract Covid. The people who will thumb their noses at it are … exactly who you would expect. |
Again, that is a misunderstanding of fauci’s comments. That’s not what he said. See recent previous post with correct characterization of his comments |
They aren't begging you, it's all in your sick mind, get help. NObody is saying you have to stay locked up and afraid forever. Nobody. It's all in your warped reality and none of us are obligated to indulge you. My friend, who is a doctor at a very busy NYC hospital was walking around unmasked outdoors when others masked and she got together for dinners with us all the time. She saw who exactly died of Covid and who is at risk. most patients at risk were elderly with more than 2 comorbidities and all younger patients were obese. Stop listening to fear news for clicks and actually ask real medical professionals who do work with Covid patients. |
I hope you and your family get everything you deserve. |
Did he say we need to strive for Zero Covid? Ugh, I canot believe we are still arguing with people who are stuck in April of 2020 and hope for zero covid. It's time we move on and if you want to continue living in your bubble you are welcome to it. Unmask our kids |
I hope you do too! YOu don't know what diseases we have and what we are dealing with, I have chronic issues (prior to Covid) and will never be normal, but I survived Covid before vax was available. I am thankful our vulnerable family were able to get their vaccines and thats all we can do at this point. Now the ball is in the Treatments court, time for antivirals, it's what benefits everyone, vaccinated or not, immunocompromized especially! They need treatments. |
They are. There have been a number of recent news articles, open letters from doctors, etc imploring people to help turn the tide. You can do a quick Google news search to see for yourself |
Speaking of masks, who are these people going into Starbucks and the like maskless? It’s like giving a big F-you to the staff. |
I think it's this board, not entire DC metro area. It's an echo chamber and anyone with strong opinions that goes against relentless fear mongering probably gets deleted. I hear you. We visited FL and were relieved not to deal with masks, we envy you. We do hope one day our kids can go unmasked too. It's time. Time to take our lives back, and alsp it would be good for those scared to allow them to heal internally too and move on. |
Perhaps. Or they are hoping customers don’t wear them so they won’t be required to either. You don’t know what they are thinking |
It’s an eating establishment and last I checked, people were allowed to eat/drink inside Starbucks. It’s not April 2020 anymore. Are they supposed to go in and order with a mask and then sit down to eat and drink, obviously without a mask? Seems like Covid theater but ok. |
The state constitution vests authority over a school district with the local school board. An EO cannot override the state constitution. The EO is political theater without any real teeth. |
