NE-West teams are older with numerous PG students, thus older, bigger and strong. (thus more physical) But those teams play each other and seldom play out of the area teams. NE-West is a good conference but not on level with IAC, MIAA. Landon supporters keep talking about Brunswick and St I wins last season to justify the number 1 ranking. I believe that Landon deserved the number 1 ranking but go to Baltimore and play a top 3 school.

The New England West is a better conference as it should be... the league allows PGs. Most teas have any where between 4 - 7 postgrads a year. These schools are allowed to openly recruit.

My son did a PG year there, there is a reason most of the IAC and MIAA teams won't even play the New England West teams anymore.

For those whose kids have done a PG year in the NE West, what is the benefit and what sort of players do it?

They have to step up their game!

Why is the WCAC generally weak in lacrosse?

Because they are not wealthy.

Most of the schools in the WCAC don't have the right demographic, they spend too much capital on recruiting football and basketball players (those sports come first for them) and their academics aren't strong enough to attract the typically higher achieving academic lax players.

Gonzaga and IACs offer the kids more "FA"

Let's put this NE West conference thing to rest. Brunswick played 2 close games last year, one vs Lawrenceville a 10 - 9 W and one vs New Canaan 7-5 W, so we will agree that those teams are close to Brunswick in level of play. Lawrenceville LOST 8 games last year and New Canaan LOST 6 games. If Brunswick is the best in NE West then there are 12 teams that are as good or better than Brunswick and that equates to the other teams in NE West even at a lower level. I don't dispute that NE West is good, but look at the top 2 teams in MIAA and IAC and you will see there is a difference.
This is undisputed, based on data, but you are allowed your opinion.

are you really comparing scores?

Look at the teams they best? Deerfield, Avon, Salisbury?

These are some of the best programs in the country

Salisbury lost to Choate and IMG (IMG lost to G Prep)
Avon played NO ONE.
Deerfield lost to Taft.

Brunswick is good. 4th or 5th place in IAC 5/6 in MIAA.

The cheeseheads are back with the best school in the best conference on the planet talk. Bullis you need to control the underclass parents they are FULL of themselves.

The idiots talking about Avon and Deerfield are Landon/Prep parents.

This is stupid thread.

Brunswick was ranked 4th in the nation in the final Inside Lacrosse poll.

Here is a better question, why was Bullis ranked so high last year? Who did they beat that was even a top 25 team to even amerit a high ranking?

Anonymous
I agree the national rankings are sometimes not very logical. The US Lacrosse poll had Bullis ranked better than McDonogh, even though Mcdonogh beat Bullis. Go figure.
Anonymous
Bullis didn't beat anyone last year to even merit a top 20 national ranking.

I guess they played Landon close in the first meeting and that was the only reason they were ranked in the final top 10.

Prep
- racist cheers
- started an arms race by building buildings that belonged on a college campus
- parents who scream at refs every chance they get

Sounds like you are envious.

You may be correct, but Bullis only lost to Landon and Mcdonogh, there is good argument that Bullis should not be ranked.
