How did SSSAS get so good?

There are quite a few from club teams in Alexandria that have strong programs through 8th grade.

There are no club teams of note in Alexandria. Like Bullis, they recruit and are the beneficiary of many lacrosse kids wanting to go there. They get kids from Madlax, VLC and BW - the recipe most schools follow. For the MD and DC private schools, you see kids from those schools plus a lot from Next Level, DC Express and Crabs or FCA.

Not affiliated with either GP, but I think they are going to be better than what many people expect. Bullis and Landon are likely the IAC favorites, but GP is likely to be better than SSSAS this year and one of the best teams in the region.

Saint Stephens should be better than GP this year. They return most of their entire team minus the kid who ended up at Bullis for his senior year. The Saints return the number 1 fogo in area too. As we saw with Landon last spring, having a dominant fogo can take your team very far.

GP will finish 4th in the league but should be better than they were last Spring.

The Saints are definitely better on paper than Prep. Prep is sliding down to be the defacto #4 IAC team every year now. As for FOGO, the VA public school kid now committed to Michigan is the best in the area, arguably the best in the country.

Bullis not only recruits from the area, but goes further out and has athletes stay with "host families" during the school year. So gross. They've taken recruiting to a whole new (low) level.

Hey, kid. If a family wants to send kids to a certain school, it's none of your business. Work on your game.

This Bullis bashing has turned to comical.

Lacrosse anyone?

Why is it comical? It’s a level of absurd recruiting that goes against the spirit of the iac. Far beyond what Prep has done before that has gotten them kicked out of the iac.

True

That is insane!!! Host families during the week? Are you serious? I guess when a school becomes good in sports it attracts even non sporty kids? I think DeMatha was like that back in the 80's. It got real popular because of the sports.

Prep
- racist cheers
- started an arms race by building buildings that belonged on a college campus
- parents who scream at refs every chance they get

Bullis isn’t attracting these athletes because it’s good in sports. They’re coming because it’s offering free tuition.

very true. and offering tuition breaks to families who don't even qualify.

Believe me its starting to piss off several current faculty and current families who have been at the school for quite some time.
