| Love Mary Janes! And it isn’t like there’s just one style – there are aggressively frumpy ones and really nice, dressy ones. Don’t like them, don’t buy them! |

Egad, not a strap over the middle of your foot! The horror!

This right here. |
+1. They're very unflattering and make legs look short and chunky. |
| The strap is so uncomfortable. Nope. |

| Mary Jane’s with heels have been popular for years, not sure what you’re going on about. |
| The weird thing about this post is that it strongly implies that adults shouldn't wear such shoes because they are childish. But little girls rarely wear mary janes anymore, so...? |
| It's awful, I agree. |
Depends on which MJs you're wearing and with which outfit. My 20 yo DD likes the chunky platform MJs from Doc Marten. They look great on her and she's only 5'0" tall and 95 lbs. Not my DD but this looks really cute If they were so unflattering and make legs look short/chunky, I don't think the Rockettes would wear them so often. Scroll through the pictures and you'll see it's what they wear most often. https://www.vanityfair.com/culture/photos/2012/12/photos-rockettes-costumes-choreography

Wow, I've never had any of these issues with shoes, flops, etc. I guess I will consider myself lucky. |
With your logis, why doesn't a marathon runner wear mary janes then? |
| I know a woman in her 50's that has always worn mary janes.....with little lacey ankle socks and short skirts. It looks kinky. |
Ok I am not on the side of people arguing against Mary Janes, but obviously the Rockettes wear them so the shoe doesn’t go flying off during a high kick |
| They are the in shoe for spring 2024. |
