Another +1 for MJs.

I tend to either go half a size up to accommodate my toe box or go with a wide in my size. Because of that my foot ends up slipping out. The strap in the Mary Janes prevents this from happening so I’ve finally found a solution I tend to like the Mary Jane flats but not the heels. To each their own!

This is the pair I got https://margauxny.com/collections/the-demi-jane/products/the-demi-jane-black-nappa

Those are adorable! Hope they provide enough cushioning/arch support.

My God, I am so with you on how awful this is. When I see grown women wearing Mary Janes, I feel incensed.

Sorry a strap on a shoe enrages you.

I love Mary janes. Flats and heels. I'm another one who often struggles with shoes slipping on my heel even when it's the right size.

A shoe I will never, ever understand: the slingback. I recently saw a celeb walking a red carpet in a pair of sling back and, god bless her, the straps where just 100% under her heel and she was keeping the shoes on her foot with toe strength and careful stepping while still managing to work her outfit for paparazzi. A true pro. As an recreational dresser, I would have thrown what I'm sure were $1000+ slingback in the dumpster.

They are awesome. If you are on your feet all day, then you need something comfortable. Mary Jane’s are great. Lots of women are going more practical with shoes. Women have to walk city blocks, ride the Metro, walk the office buildings, etc. Mary Jane’s are stylish and stay on your feet.

I think they’re cute.

They’re more common with younger employees at my office than heels, actually. Women’s footwear really has become more practical recently. The most common heels I see nowadays are booties. So Mary Janes and other flats are the norm.

It all depends on how you style them.

I love my Carel Arianas. They are super comfortable and can elevate casual outfits with jeans; or they can add a little whimsy to a boring, conservative look. But I’m not out here wearing frilly socks to work.

Oh those are cute! Is there any place to try on that brand in person around here?

It ages you and is a senior citizen shoe.

Why not buy both sizes?

They aren’t stylish. They’re practical and that’s fine. Some would say grumpy.
