Grown women wearing mary janes

I love them. I never had a pair as a child so I don't associate them with that.

They tend to have a good size toe box which is good for hammertoes.

Comense pearl clutching.

I liked it in the 90s and I like it now.

I tend to either go half a size up to accommodate my toe box or go with a wide in my size. Because of that my foot ends up slipping out. The strap in the Mary Janes prevents this from happening so I’ve finally found a solution I tend to like the Mary Jane flats but not the heels. To each their own!

This is the pair I got https://margauxny.com/collections/the-demi-jane/products/the-demi-jane-black-nappa

These are so pretty. Are they comfortable?

So adorbs! I need a wide toe box, though, so I don’t think they’d work for me.

Dr. Martens, anyone? Love them

I like them because they stay on. Sure, most shoes "stay on" lol, but often shoes with no laces flip off the heel going down stairs, especially if it's not a lace-up or a boot. I didn't have this happen with high heels so much, but I don't wear them anymore because I'm 70. I don't want to fall off my shoes. If you get shoes that are roomy, wide enough and low, chances are they will slip off the heel going up or down my three flights of stairs. Trust me, I have five pairs, and I'm going to get crafty with elastic and bows to keep them on. Not too interested in the DC Fashion police. If we paid attention to the fashion police, we would be wearing who knows what.

I had a cherry red pair, one inch block heel from my very stylish deceased italian aunt. I gave them to goodwill a few years ago...major regrets now.

I like them because they stay on.

I can't understand why any grown woman would wear high heels that wreck her posture and cause ankle, tendon and calf injuries, and leave her unable to walk distances in comfort.

This is easy. They make your ass look aces.

Cute and classic with a French flair.

umm where you not alive in the 90s?? seen any pics from the 1920s (arguably the most influential era in fashion) ??

They are comfortable. And they fit many of us better than other types of shoes.

They are flat and don't give heel blisters like flippy floppy flats.

+1. They're very unflattering and make legs look short and chunky.

Maybe your legs look short. I am all leg, so I find that shoes with a strap under the ankle or across the foot bring me back into visual proportion. T-strap Mary James are even better.

These are examples of young women wearing them (I assume you were young in the 90s). No one who wore them in the 90s should be wearing them again, unless you're going full-on kooky librarian.
