I love them. I never had a pair as a child so I don't associate them with that.
They tend to have a good size toe box which is good for hammertoes. Comense pearl clutching. |
I liked it in the 90s and I like it now. |
These are so pretty. Are they comfortable? |
So adorbs! I need a wide toe box, though, so I don’t think they’d work for me. Dr. Martens, anyone? Love them |
| I like them because they stay on. Sure, most shoes "stay on" lol, but often shoes with no laces flip off the heel going down stairs, especially if it's not a lace-up or a boot. I didn't have this happen with high heels so much, but I don't wear them anymore because I'm 70. I don't want to fall off my shoes. If you get shoes that are roomy, wide enough and low, chances are they will slip off the heel going up or down my three flights of stairs. Trust me, I have five pairs, and I'm going to get crafty with elastic and bows to keep them on. Not too interested in the DC Fashion police. If we paid attention to the fashion police, we would be wearing who knows what. |
| i love mary janes. |
| mary janes are classic and timeless. love them. |
| I had a cherry red pair, one inch block heel from my very stylish deceased italian aunt. I gave them to goodwill a few years ago...major regrets now. |
This is easy. They make your ass look aces. |
| Cute and classic with a French flair. |
umm where you not alive in the 90s?? seen any pics from the 1920s (arguably the most influential era in fashion) ?? |
| They are comfortable. And they fit many of us better than other types of shoes. |
| They are flat and don't give heel blisters like flippy floppy flats. |
Maybe your legs look short. I am all leg, so I find that shoes with a strap under the ankle or across the foot bring me back into visual proportion. T-strap Mary James are even better. |
These are examples of young women wearing them (I assume you were young in the 90s). No one who wore them in the 90s should be wearing them again, unless you're going full-on kooky librarian. |
