Was just looking at the 2018 and 2019 boys D1 commits listed on the Xanders site. Here is the breakdown for schools and clubs if anyone is interested (may be no one). Obviously numbers don't tell a lot of things and the quality of D1 schools in terms of lax and academics varies widely, but interesting.
2018 Bullis - 1 Landon -7 Prep - 5 Madlax - 15 Blackwolf -17 VLC - 5 Crabs (dc area kids only) - 4 2019 Bullis - 5 Landon - 2 Prep - 6 Madlax - 11 Blackwolf - 11 VLC - 3 Crabs (dc only) - 3 Next level - 3 |
You are missing STA, the boys at SSSAS and EH, and the girls across the board. BTW, Girls stats are MUCH more impressive. Every girl on the 2018 and all but a 2-3 of the 2019 Capital Blue (A) club is committed and, everyone of the Ivies is has recruited a player on the Capital 2019 Blue club except Dartmouth. |
| why are you so obsessed with pointing out the girls part every time someone posts about boys? nobody is going to post about both. |
I have asked this same question on multiple occasions. I find it absolutely bizarre that someone would take other posters to task for not mentioning women lacrosse. The only thing that makes sense is that this poster is completely unfamiliar with the format of a forum, and thinks that she is instead reading a news publication of some sort. In that case, it would make some sense to expect that an articles on the topic of "private school lacrosse" would cover both the boys' and girls' programs. Scolding PP, if you are reading this, here's how it works: each individual poster posts anything on the topic that interests them, and responds to any posts they find interesting. Many posters here do not have daughters who play lacrosse, so you cannot expect them to post about girls lacrosse. If you are interested in talking about girls' or women's lacrosse, please do so, and posters who are similarly inclined will respond to your posts. |
| Are those listed for Crabs, Next Level, etc not playing for their school team, or they just list their team affiliation instead of the school? Or, for example, is one of the players listed for Landon also listed as crabs? |
There is overlap between the clubs and schools. No DC area player on the list doesn't play club as far as I can tell. But there are many other schools with recruits. It was just a sample of some prominent schools and clubs. |
| Not sure about the other teams listed but pretty sure VLC 2018 has 9 D1 recruits: Maryland, Hopkins, Brown, Hartford, VMI, Providence, Bucknell, Ohio State and Penn State. Obviously it doesn’t really matter but figured I would mention. |
Where is this listed? |
They actually have 10 D1 commits on that team. |
| Yes they also have a guy going to Delaware. |
Looks like they also have a few d3 commits. Pretty impressive. Though I think Madlax exceeds those numbers. Amazing how much talent there is in the area. |
Does Next Level or DC Express post their college commitments somewhere? |
| DC express has nothing. |
| Do kids who play on these travel teams all also play on their high school teams? I know with soccer the high level, academy, players don't play on our child's high school team, I think they can't do both, and I wondered if there is something similar for lacrosse? |
Yes they play club and HS |
