This argument is weak. Yes, there are expensive houses in places like Sao Paolo, but as you conveniently omit, there are many areas in Sao Paolo where housing is much cheaper. Everywhere in SF is expensive. There are no cheap places. because the city is beautiful, the economy is dynamic, and people with money want to live there.

City services can't clean the streets.

I'm extremely suspicious of the DA. His parents were literal terrorists who went to prison and then he was raised by Bill Ayers. The he went to Venezuela and worked as Hugo Chávez interpreter. It's like he's intentionally sowing chaos, and when you look at his background it explains what his motivation may be.

Completely agree. It's really too bad - I spent some time in SF in the early 90s and loved it. No way would I revisit now - especially with my family. And that goes for Seattle and Portland too. Utter cesspools.

I'm the one that posted that. As shocking as it is that he has a background working directly for an adversary who hates the US and who turned his own nation into a failed state where people are starving and even educated women turn to prostitution just to get by, it's even more shocking that the people of SF voted him in. I'm sad for SF but it's also like, what did you think would happen?

Why in the world would you start a company in CA now with its out of control crime? You pay nosebleed taxes, and for what? Crime that's out of control, fecal bombs in the street, and open hard drug use everywhere? The lack of policing and out of control crime in SF/Silicon Valley that's turning the state into a cesspool is a big reason why companies and VC dollars are fleeing CA or are no longer entering the state. CA is a has been. You can thank their idiotic progressive politicians for ruining the state. They are going to wake up one day with the rest of the country eating their lunch in terms of new growth/new companies. When that happens, the tax base will predictably flee for greener pastures, and CA will be caught in a downward death spiral as their revenue base collapses.
