I have spent about 22 years in San Fran off and on. I have had a rent controlled apartment in north beach since late 90s. The real drug use used to be in the tenderloin and haight. Now we have needles all over the place it is dangerous for dogs to walk. I use to kick the homeless off our front stoop and they would relocate; now they just get up, let me get in to my apartment and camp back down on the stoop. The police do nothing so no point in calling anyone about. The da is terrible, even by San Francisco standards. The recall will happen this spring. I would not tell anyone that the city is a good place to raise a family, but it is a beautiful city that will bounce back; just without many kids in it, or at least there should not be many families in the city proper.
I'm extremely suspicious of the DA. His parents were literal terrorists who went to prison and then he was raised by Bill Ayers. The he went to Venezuela and worked as Hugo Chávez interpreter. It's like he's intentionally sowing chaos, and when you look at his background it explains what his motivation may be.
That would actually explain quite a lot.
I'm the one that posted that. As shocking as it is that he has a background working directly for an adversary who hates the US and who turned his own nation into a failed state where people are starving and even educated women turn to prostitution just to get by, it's even more shocking that the people of SF voted him in. I'm sad for SF but it's also like, what did you think would happen?
