We don’t need your pity, or your castigation from your trailers.

SF is sooooooooo far down on the list of nice places to live. No one wants to live that overpriced cesspool. Who wants to pay exorbitant amounts of money for a crappy small apartment while having to dodge human dookie and used hypodermic needles spreading hepatitis everywhere? There are many, many other cities in the world where people envy more to live than SF. SF is a trash heap open sewer.

There is an obvious contradiction in your argument: If nobody wants to live in SF, why are property values so high?

Because of NIMBYs and geography, idiot. Not really hard to understand.

You conveniently neglected to mention that it is also due to the seemingly endless supply of people clamoring to spend $750,000 on a 1 bedroom apartment or $2 million on a SFH within city limits.

Apparently, there is a seemingly endless supply of very stupid people.

Given they have fatter wallets than you do maybe they know something you don't.

Truth: Poop stinks when you walk over or past it. Doesn't mattter if your wallet is full or empty.

The overwhelming portion of those cities, however, are variable crap holes filled with murder, crime, drugs and human trafficking.. you can't even walk around at night in Sao Paolo. Real estate prices don't mean anything. Even a crap hole like SF can have high real estate prices even though they're pretty much a 10th century fedual system with open sewer pits and needles everywhere. Big whoop about real estate prices. SF is still a miserable trash hole.

This argument is weak. Yes, there are expensive houses in places like Sao Paolo, but as you conveniently omit, there are many areas in Sao Paolo where housing is much cheaper. Everywhere in SF is expensive. There are no cheap places. because the city is beautiful, the economy is dynamic, and people with money want to live there.

City services can't clean the streets.

We considered SF for a potential job right before COVID hit. I went to visit and it was disgusting. I didn’t feel safe as a woman and would never consider taking my family for a vacation there. I’d rather go to NYC or South Beach. The tents are out of control. And just looking I see tons of property for sale. Like an insane amount. Two of my friends left the city and aren’t returning, the third got a huge rent decrease to stay. Lots of companies don’t care where you live and new tech hubs are starting elsewhere. Like Miami.

This is a non-sequitur that has nothing to do with the Sao Paolo vs. San Francisco argument.

DP. Look, no one is preventing you from living in a crime-ridden, poop-laden, needle-filled cesspool. Knock yourself out!

Is AOC simply not paying attention?

Sadly, home invasions are becoming more frequent now. Seems that the LA mayor is taking notice. Can't have the rich folks being victims...... at least, that is the way it appears now.
Perhaps if they had cracked down earlier, these criminals wouldn't feel so emboldened.

And, Jacqueline Avant was killed in one of these home invasions. Truly sad.

AOC's hoping the news cycle moves fast enough that this issue will be knocked off people's radars.

It won't be. Other than the economy, people want to live in safety.
She can't seem to admit that some cities are not allowing that.

+1
How is it that *anyone* takes AOC seriously?

I have spent about 22 years in San Fran off and on. I have had a rent controlled apartment in north beach since late 90s.

The real drug use used to be in the tenderloin and haight.
Now we have needles all over the place it is dangerous for dogs to walk. I use to kick the homeless off our front stoop and they would relocate; now they just get up, let me get in to my apartment and camp back down on the stoop. The police do nothing so no point in calling anyone about.

The da is terrible, even by San Francisco standards. The recall will happen this spring.

I would not tell anyone that the city is a good place to raise a family, but it is a beautiful city that will bounce back; just without many kids in it, or at least there should not be many families in the city proper.

This is horrible and so sad. I certainly hope voters come to their senses so that the city does indeed bounce back.

Completely agree. It's really too bad - I spent some time in SF in the early 90s and loved it. No way would I revisit now - especially with my family. And that goes for Seattle and Portland too. Utter cesspools.

- thanks 100% to democrats and democrat policies.
