If I want to save a few shucks and not blow the budget, would you call me a kernel pincher??

This ear got out of her car, went in the the Cornbucks to get a cup of butter, and when I looked in her car, she had left her two-year old and four-year old niblets in the car. Yes, they were sleeping, but really- WHO DOES THAT? I didn't call CPS, but waited for her to come out and gave her an earful.

CPS = Corn Protective Services?

After shucking corn I now find that I can now start and stop my monthly flow while sitting on the toilet. Is this normal?

Funny, PP! =)

Does your nanny eat all of your cornflakes!? My nanny does, and my dh called her on it, too. Yep, He yelled at her on the phone for 1 hour after she had apologized, and bought us 20 cases of new cork flakes. Do you think he overreacted? I confess, I sometimes eat ALL of the cornflakes, too. Anyway, now we count the cornflakes in the box daily just to make sure each cornflake is accounted for! Next time there is a cornflake discrepency, it is "Adios Nanny! Go eat someone else's cornflakes!"

I promise, if you fix this recipe, there won't be a bite left in the bowl! I usually double it.

Stewed Corn

Ingredients
6 ears fresh Silver Queen corn
½ stick butter (not margarine)
½ cup whole milk
1 teaspoon salt

Directions
Shuck corn and remove all silks. Finely cut the corn. (With a sharp knife, vertically slice each row of kernels. Then cut off about ½ of the kernels, going round the cob. Repeat.) With back of knife, scrape juice from each cob. (It will splatter, so use a large bowl.) Place in double boiler. Add other ingredients. Cover and cook over gently boiling water for approximately 1 ½ hours. If needed, add more milk. Serves 4.
